After MC Hammer (has a verified account) called it him out as a fake, he has added "This is a parody". Don't feel bad, Ochocinco (has a verified account) thought it was Prince too.

Even if Prince has no intentions of posting on Twitter, he should have a verified account set up, and use it as a way to announce tours and new releases. This way if he does choose to use it at a later time, it's there and the fans aren't being taken in.

That's a really good idea - even if he doesn't use it for announcing tours/new releases. It could simply state that IF he was ever going to use Twitter (which he won't), that's the acct he'd use, thus confirming absolutely all others as fake (and hopefully stopping these threads).

I realise it's beyond wishful thinking, but what I'd love is if P bypassed all the other social networking and tried FanTrail, where you can send voice messages to your fans via a phone app - imagine waking up to a phone message from Prince!!

Sheila announced the other day that Prince doesn't have an account. Which is a damn shame. I'd love to read Prince's lunatic statements about his breakfast.

I don't think it's that farfetched, the idea of Prince being on Twitter. And yeah, at one point I thought maybe that could be him. But after seeing some of the more recent Tweets, I'm not getting a Prince vibe from them.

I think they're either a big Prince fan, or they wanted people to think they were Prince for whatever reason.

Still not a bad Twitter to check out though. If you're willing to sift through the nonsense, there's a lot of good posts there, too.
