Prince Ever asked 2 sing National Anthem?

I'm watching the Super Bowl (sadly Steelers are down as of now) and I'm wondering if Prince was ever asked to sing the National Anthem at the beginning of the game? I know he did half time (duh) but what about the NA? Or if ever asked, would he ever agreed to it? Or was he even considered. Just wondering...

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

I don't know if he ever did NA, but I only can imagine how interesting his version of NA would be.

He would sing it like no one else did, his own way. I would love to see Princfe dp NA.

This would scare me, almost. Prince is a pretty good vocalist with an impressive array of styles and a nice range, but I don't think he has the vocal chops for the national anthem.

It would be VERY interesting if he would ever do or ever have done the NA. It would probably be soft, man, i don't know. He'll just do it his unique way. I think the crowd's attention would be divided between his vocals and his outfit he would wear lol. I imagine the red Purple Rain fit like this one:

I imagine the stadium very quiet and awaiting as Prince walks up the stage steps and the sound of heels clunking against the stage echos throughout the arena. Then he takes the mic stand by the neck with one hand and the mic itself in the other, and begins to sing. Closing his eyes to get more into the American feeling, and he then opens them again as he continues to sing. And of course, in some verses of the song, he would have to appropriately accent his higher register, in which the crowd would cheer upon hearing the musician's trademark. (Geeze, sounds like it actually happened as I reread, lol). And in the end, I couldn't imagine how he would end it, but it would be spectacular!

If he ever does, he'd better start it out with a big ol' "Owww-AH!"

well, maybe he find the peace with this religion, we not the ones to judge.

Besides, every single religion in this earth is a cult.

Absolutely not. The thought has never crossed the mind of whoever's in charge of that, Prince would never do it, and it will just never, ever happen. It won't even come close to happening. It won't even be an IDEA anyone has.

THE ANSWER IS DEFINATELY NO! I KNOW THIS AS A FACT. PRINCE IS A JEHOVAH WITNESS AND ALONG WITH NOT SALUTING ANY FLAG, THEY CAN NOT SING ANY COUNTRY'S NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Everybody shut up and listen to the jam. . .

I think he already gave us his interpretation on Around the World in a Day. (Yes, I know that is a different song.)

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

But what I was mainly talking about was actaully referring to earlier eras, not in this day and time. Again, It would be awesome to see how he would do it... cool

I know his guitar would sound better and more prestine than Hendrix if he ever had done it w/ just guitar
