Correct me if i'm wrong. Ok, Prince pulled TBA from stores because he felt it was too dark and he didn't want that album as the last impression people had of him.

If Prince felt this way then why were some of these "dark" songs played in concert? The other day I was listening to the Lovesexy tour in Osaka and Bob George was played.

Will those in the know fill in the blanks for me?

"Black Album" was one of the most bootlegged records of all time, and the fans had heard those songs. I don't think he hated the songs off of it, he did put "When 2 R in Love" on "Lovesexy", and tried to use it to get out of his WB contract a few years later.

if this were true: Prince cancelled the black album with the intention for it to become a widely bootlegged special underground album that seemed cooler than anything any other pop star was capable of at that time.

I didn't think it was that dark an album really, as P said it was, some good upbeat funk tracks on there.

because is was ALL a publicity stunt.

As we all know, Prince protégé Camille sang on various songs over this period.

Prince fell out with Camille and part of the anger on Bob George is due to this.

Glad to see Camille returning on backing vocals on Lady Gaga's "Born this way".

Some of us feel it may lead to a Wendy and Lisa type reunion.
