Prince's strengths as a musician

Which is Prince's greatest musical strength? His sense of rhythm or his sense of melody?

To me, Prince's strength as a musician is that he attempts more than one genre of music. Many people will say that his attempts at, say, classical music sucks. Or that he is not a true blues player. I, for one, have enjoyed all of Prince's music. True, some not as much as most but so far there isn't anything of his music that I don't like at all.

NEWS is one of my favorite Prince albums because each song takes its own direction and goes from point A to point B. It's not circular in that it starts with one theme and comes back around to the beginning. I LIKE DIFFERENT.

Misspelling edit. oops.

I agree completely! Different is always stimulating.

If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

That he is a collaborator and can blend sounds together of all performing muscians on stage, or in the case of his own efforts on every musical instrument, just bring it all together in a way that can be called "genius".
