Curious Child I searched through the forums and couldn't help but notice this song was not discussed on here. From what I've noticed, If I am wrong correct me, but is this talking about a first time of getting your groove on, well his experienced? I like the song and I hope I am interpreting it right. What do you think about this song?

I think he's talking about Mayte.
Curious child on the balcony....we took the dare....
The tone and music seems to be more of a ramatizezed first meeting of two souls than just getting nookie.
Now, this.... THIS is getting nookie for real!

That seems to be the wrong link, but yeah, there've been discussions. I once suggested that it might have been about an adolescent homo-erotic experimentation (P and Andre) but funnily enough I heard it yesterday and was thinking about starting a similar thread. I still like the gay play interpretation but I agree that, based on the placement in the album, it seems to be about Mayte but: is it suggesting that htye first got it on when she was under-age???

lol, It's the right link. The org is broken, though, and defaults links to a dead thread about ComputerWorld magazine.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I am listening to "Curious Child" right now--really like this song. The lyrics indicate that it is about an inner struggle with spriritual repercussions IMO... The curious child being tempted by the wayward world and the consequences of losing the idealistic innocence of one's youth and the expectations that go along with it. Just another spin on this song...
Correction: Curious Child is not on the Electric Intercourse Anthology. [Edited 2/9/11 7:59am] "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Never dwelled on the lyrics but it was one of my favorite tracks from Emancipation. It was a turning point in my life and the songs tone reflected it perfectly The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I like it when he does these artful arrangements, it displays his range. The lyrics too have an air of mystery. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."
