I think they were talking about the "update" making Cee lo sing "foget you" instead of Fuck you. if I were bringing my kids to this show (7 and 4) I'd just tell them you might here a few "grown up" words tonight kids. I really would mind

Ahh, ok.

Well I never listen to the radio, but I don't have any doubt that it is played here on the radio.

I just think it is ridiculous to ask an artist to censor his art. And I wonder how Prince would have reacted to that if somebody would have asked the same of him back in the day.

In the age of "radio edits" and "Parental Advisory" versions of albums, I don't really see it as censorship. He was just asked to do that version instead of the other one. It's not like he was asked to rewrite his whole song...

Here in Europe nobody gives a fuck if an artist says "fuck" on TV or sings it on the radio. Overhere music is only not played on the radio if it is considered dangerous like when an artist promotes raping and killing of children or jews or something like that. Apart from tha tanything goes and a songtitle like "Fuck You" is considered the most normal thing in the world and openly played everywhere. You see naked people on TV and nobody cares. We could not believe at all why Janet Jackson's "exposed" breasts at the superbowl were even worth talking about, apart from the fact that they were ugly lol. I don't get it all why words associated with sex or nudity are considered a problem, but we are all exposed to violence all the timea and nobody sees this as dangerous and unhealthy for our minds. On American TV you probably cannot watch women's breasts but people dying or being tortured is okay. I will never get that and it makes me sad and angry.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Do you mean you would not mind?

If I had kids I sure would not mind. I would mind though if they watched if they watched any movie/TV program that shows violence. Sex is natural and nothing bad. Same goes for cursewords, as long as they are not offensive towards certain peopel, what is the big deal? I don't get it shrug. I never heard or used any curse word until I was well over 10 and now I use them all the time.

ohh..yes I meant *wouldn't mind. I mean sure...I try to watch my language around my kids but...they hear plenty of "grown up" words from me. confused when they ask about them...or use them, I just say those are grown up words...you can use them when you're grown up. even my 7 year old says "pissed" sometimes and it doesn't bother me. it's just a word. as long as he's not calling me a bitch or something..I'm fine with it. lol

Good attitude thumbs up!. When my niece was smaller and used to stay with me for the holidays I handled it similar.

Well, rules apply differently in various countries and some folks actually care what their children are exposed to. Then when you hear youth swearing at adults in the street or elsewhere, the first question people ask is where's their home training or where did they learn it from? I certanily would not have wanted my son thinking he had the right or freedom to swear at an adult when he was much younger or thinking he had the right to disrespect them. What a child learns from his parent(s) and what they expose them to, will have some effect on how he/she conducts themselves and their communication with others, when they become adults.

As far as the superbowl incident, I found much of the public and media's reaction a bit over-the-top, because it was J. Timberlake that ripped Janet's blouse open and exposed her breasts, but JT was given a slap on the hand and seemed to be offered more tv appearances after that, while Janet was attacked viciously by some in the media for something JT did to her. Not surprising.

Anyway, I'm sure people can live through one day without hearing the term F**k come out someone else's mouth.lol

Is he for real? Prince definately never ceases to surprise us...and sometimes, it aint a pleasant surprise!

Why is this such a surprise?

Compared to Prince's other opening acts so far on this tour...this is kind of a eek If he's going for current, he might as well add Justin Beiber, Drake, Lady Gaga to the list! He might would sell more!

Not to mention with Prince and his "clean act" going, I'm shocked he'd ruin his show with such a performer. shrug

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

have you lost your mind?

-Cee-Lo is one of the most respected rappers from the 90s in the south

-Is one of the biggest voices of modern soul/gospel.

-Was and still is a important force and member of the Dungeon Famiy crew(containing OutKast etc).

-Wrote Crazy, being one of the biggest hits of 2000-2010, up there with Hey Ya. Like Hey Ya, sounds nothing like the other trendy music at the time

-The weakest thing he has done is some of his collaboration songs, and a over polished last album. But hell, it was a hell of alot better than any recent Prince when it comes to the songs. Allright, Prince does play the guitar. Who cares? I'm a big Prince fan, but inviting the likes of Cee-Lo, Janelle Monae etc. is a great move for him.

It's also important to say also that Cee-Lo is one of few that actually knows how to sing funky stuff in a sexy way, kinda like Prince did. His first solo effort Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections had Closet Freak and Bad Mutha. Two sexy ecclectic grooves that did not sell a bunch, but it was great.

I don't care what he sings, Cee-Lo is funky and I'm glad he's gonna be a part of the purple festivities! I'll be singing "Forget You" with the rest of them! lol

Me too. I actually prefer the edited version anyway. It just flows better to me. Anyway, Cee-Lo is talented and I like his music, so i'm excited. He's a great choice to be the opening act.

"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

Yup, Esperenza, Janelle, and now Cee-Lo, makes sense to me.

Prince obviously wants to and enjoys being surrounded by talented people.

Is Forget You not the original version anyway?

I thought F**k You was just an album bonus track, as it says so on the cover.

I prefer the clean version too.

I thought you lived in a free country. Except from the fact that yall can buy guns and shoot each other down at any age, you'll get beeped when you try to say one "bad" word. I guess it's better to watch the desperate videos of Rigaga. In Norway it's almost impossible to hear the edited version, as the radio stations prefer to play the original. Forget You doesn't even make any sence when you think of it. It sounds like forced editing.

I'm not sure I understand why people NEED to hear cursing... confuse

It's not like "F**K You" has been playing on the radio.

If you really, really cannot live without the F word, then listen to the album version. confused

I swear, people complain about the strangest things... lol

The first time i heard Forget you I myself was like what the Fuck? I heard it on the radio in England. Couldn't hear what he was saying at first, used to hearing somethinge else. In my country (The Netherlands) they always play(ed) the Fuck you version on the radio.

Why are people complaining? I think Cee Lo is probably honored that Prince is a fan and wanted him to open for him, because obviously he didn't turn him down.
