Curious little movie and theme. What if any influence did Prince have on this movie? The theme of acknowleging one's own "heart song" -- the thing that we are best at, our core value or core talent as it were-- sometimes in the face of adversity, embracing who and what we are and singing it, and singing it, and singing it, until our heart's content, is such a liberating concept. Do you think Prince in someway might identify with this concept and the little penguin guy who starred in the movie.

I heard they had included Prince songs in the film and wanted Prince's approval/OK - he was very against the idea until they invited him to come and see the film - at which point he saw that the film had a lot of ideas that he himself believed in. Inspired, he went back to the studio and came up with Song of The Heart (probably produced in a day!). He gave his blessing to the film and they tacked his song on the end titles and soundtrack.
