BASS? hey everyone, my best friend is currently auditioning for session musician roles as a bass player, the guys he is auditioning for next week (thursday) are prince influenced (so they say- i am yet to hear them) and so he figured it would be a good idea to use a prince track.. it's an especially well paid gig and so it would be amazing if he could get it, but as a non-musician myself i have no idea what tracks would best show his skills on the bass guitar, i only know what i like, not what is technically an interesting or difficult. his level is high, he can pick up most by ear and so difficulty levels aren't a problem.. so has anyone got suggestions as to which songs (live, bootleg, studio..not an issue, i have most) could best suit his purpose? or even if you have no musical knowledge, which you feel are the catchiest? i'm hoping for a list of maybe five to give him to play around with! thank you for reading this! **NPGMC refugee**

Dead on it. "He's a musician's musician..."

the Lady Cab Driver bass line is insane, but... is he gonna have to play solo? If so, the line wouldn't mean much.
If he's playing solo, I'd opt for Let's Work.

Dead on it. Good one. "Negroes from Brooklyn" line has always seemed a nod to Marcus Miller. Oh, that's a great one. I've long suspected his "negroes from Brooklyn " line is a nod to Marcus Miller
