the best deleted scene was a dream sequence that takes place after his parents fight and after the other deleted scene (the original screenplay for 'Dreams' alternated between "dreams" of super-stardom and the realities of a struggling musician and a flash forward to making it big. It has some similarities to "nightmare on elm street" (another film in production at the same time) in that you were never sure if it was a dream or real and what was present or future.
Anyway in the dream the kid is dancing with Jerry mouse a nod to Gene Kelly's movie 'Anchors Aweigh' but Prince had it pulled at the last second when he realized Jerry Mouse was taller than he was. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!" |
