my wish list that Prince would do covers of.. OK... let's say that his selections of covers that have been released have not been "that" great...so I was thinking of tunes that he should cover and release... Let's have some fun with this....

I Love the covers that Prince has done so far. It seems like every so often an artist will re-record an oldie. I was surprised yesterday to find out that the song, "Just a gigolo," was written in 1928...that surprised me. This is not a cover I would want Prince to do, I just thought I'd mention it.
Crazy as this sounds, I think that Prince and The Band could do a great cover of "Delta Dawn," by Helen Reddy. I'd love to hear Prince sing it...I bet the radio stations would open up to it also...It's one of those songs that I think everybody loves. Can we get 2gether

I would like him to cover the following songs in concert:
Computer Blue (I don't know if he knows this one.) Old Friends 4 Sale Fury Future Soul Song Beginning Endlessly Lovesexy When 2 R In Love Anna Stesia Automatic Let's Go Crazy(the actual song, not him chanting Go Go GO)
Those would be the only cover songs I would want him to do...let Rod Stewart cover everything else. Covers can be a nice nod to a hero in small doses. In large doses, they are horrible.

Funny, I was just thinking of this, this morning. I heard "A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins and thought that it would be cool to hear Prince cover that song.
Then again, I don't like when Prince does a lot of covers, so he could pass on it and I'd be okay with it. I'm firmly planted in denial |
