I just noted that you can hear someone scream "Wooo!" in the background of Satisfied around 12 seconds into the song. It's right after the "are we all alone?" line and can only be heard in the right audio track, not in the left one. Probably a sound engineer who couldn't resist Prince's sexy singing

Have you noticed something yourself that hasn't been posted yet, but is so utterly unimportant it doesn't deserve it's own thread? I'd like to hear it!

The ending of the single edit of "Hello" has a part not included in the 12" version.

I went and took a listen and I heard that too. Every time I hear the song "Satisfied," after Prince sings, "I'm just trying to get you satisfied," I always sing, "Are you satisfied" instead of just "Satisfied," as the background vocal.

I don't know if it counts as a tidbit, but it annoys the hell out of me in the film Krush Groove when Shelia E is doing Love Bizarre and that white guy in her band is obviously lip-synching the part that Prince obviously sang.

First time around, I didn't notice, second time, Prince's scream got my attention.

Something I always found interesting was that the last word on the ATWIAD album was "goodbye" and the b-side of the next single was HELLO. It was sort of an answer to the album.

The song 'One Song" is really strange, bcus at the beggining, he talks about God, God's gifts and the end of the world. It takes 7 min.

The version of "how come U don't call me anymore released on cassette single is slightly longer than any of the vinyl cuts. The orginal vinyl cuts faded out slightly earlier, in the final ad lib section.

On the cassette version of Grafitti Bridge "Joy In Repetition" does not abrputly cut off into Love Machine (because it is the first song on side 2), but ends smoothly on the last keyboard note.

The audio on the audience on the beginning of Joy In Repitition goes from stereo to mono suddenly when switching from We Can Funk..you can hear it soon as he says:

2nd question: Does the version on the Hits/ B-sides contain this slightly longer version? Can't listen to it right now.

But his vocal comes suddenly after the background vocals come in, which does not fit in if the background vocals were not there..it would just sound off...like it does..it even sounds chopped on the first 'to me'.

The other one I noticed was on "17 Days"...Bennet's background vocal comes on suddenly ..it sounds like she missed her cue to come in as she just randomly says.."...days!"

I'd have to check, but I think the version on the Hits CD was the correct slightly longer version, where you can here the line "Why U gotta treat me so bad?" after "why must U torture me?". Most 7" vinyl copies faded out a second or two earlier.

The "long" version was on the 1999 5 track cassette single. The 7" single released at the same time was the "short" version.

Here's one that simply annoying......

Despite "Girls and Boys" being recorded as a single track, seperate to "Life can be so nice". Every released version on the track was taken from the album master and badly chopped the ending before the album segue.

Yet for Kiss, they gave the single a the proper non album version finish.

The iTunes version of the 1999 album originally offered the single edit of 1999 as opposed to the full 6:20 album version. When this was corrected, they did not correct the corresponding segued version of Little Red Corvette. So now you have "1999" fade out at 6:12-6:15 and "Little Red Corvette" is the normal 4:57 version with no segue from "1999" in the first few seconds.

Some minor things many people here probably already know:

1)The cassette and CD versions of "Still Waiting" on the Prince album clip the intro...so far as I know, the original vinyl is the only place to hear the complete song.

2)Just before the fade out on "Mountains," Prince whispers the word "starvation"

3)Purely my own observation, but I always thought it was interesting that Lovesexy starts with the sound of fire burning and the song "Eye No," with the word "No!" shouted throughout until the beginning of "Alphabet St." But t the album ends with water running on the song "Positivity," which says the word "yes" repeatedly throughout. Given the situation with the Black Album, I always thought this was a subtle metaphor for going from fire (Hell) and negativity to water (rebirth) and positivity. And, on the original vinyl and cassette, the literal turning point in these themes was the chanted "God is love..." part from "Anna Stesia." Or I'm just reading too much into it...

There are audio samples from the movie Blade Runner in the end credits of The Beautiful Experience.

I also 'heard' (read: I can't back it up), that Prince liked the look of Blade Runner, and wanted his 1999 tour stage to look like something along those lines.

to my ear, it sounds like the intro is repeated before his vocals come in. the instrumental intro is about 30 seconds on the original version, whereas the version that's on the album now it's only about 18 until he starts singing.

I just happened to check last night.
