What gets me everytime is how he ever could have broken up the SOTT band. I don't call them the "Lovesexy" band as they were formed during SOTT, and partly on Parade. If he had kept this band together, and avoided adding Tony M, his career could've gone who knows where...Too bad Prince, you blew it! Instead of firing everybody...he should've brought Wendy and Lisa back and had them be more in the background on stage, but given them major co-writing and co-producing for studio work..or at least some type of creative help.

Whenever I think of this stuff....it's kind of like thinking...now if only that pretty girl in my freshman English class had paid attention to me....lol

Diamonds and Pearls has sold almost more than SOTT and Lovesexy combined. Definitely more than each individually, so Prince would probably beg to differ that point.

You can tell fans this a million times but it just does not register that despite SOTT/Lovesexy being great cds and tours not too many people were digging that era. He came back with Diamonds and Pearls and sold about 5 million copies and the masses like that CD.

P stuck his neck out too do things that were artsy you cannot expect any artist to keep losing money forever he had to move on to music that would sell to the masses. He had his time being artisic fans need to let it go.

One of the best "Prince" concerts I have been too also. Probably the best. I read some where that George Michael said " Prince's Lovesexy tour was the best concert I ever went too"

I went to 11 lovesexy shows.

It was definately the best "show" Prince has done, but not the best "concert"

After the Parade shows, both the SOTT and Lovesexy tours felt a little rigid.

Each to there own, but my favourites are the tours where you don't know what is going to happen. Parade, Gold (Live Experience).

Lovesexy Live = yes heart worship

It should been called Sign o the Times - Mimed
It is not a "live" DVD
Lovesexy live is cool though, would be so great to have on blu-ray. The Diamonds and Pearls tour was awesome too.

Lovesexy Wembley Arena August 88 - the first time I saw Prince live - as the show started, all the lights dimmed, heard an engine revving, then the car came onto the stage, headlights came on and Prince got out of the car - that memory has stayed with me and although Ive seen him live several more times I think that has to be the best for me.

Tremolina

The LoveSexy show live in Dortmund made me a Prince fan. My brother recorded it back then in the summer of '88 off the radio and made me listen to it. Never stopped listening after that.

That is true, the Parade shows were very much diverse, of course there were the segments that were almost the same as far helping the show direction and he wanted to feature more of the ATWIAD Parade material but the concerts and off shows were very much more improvised and featured here and there song like Alexa de Paris, Dance Electric, and it was much more loose than what he wanted to do with the Purple Rain shows.

I said to myself a lot that the SOTT shows were very rigid and controlled like the Purple Rain shows. The Lovesexy show was even more so, because he had that theatrical production he didn't want to deviat from, which lent to the impromptu aftershows improvision
