Got any ideas for "The Vault" releases? I do, Volume 6 - All Day, All Night

One of my Prince wish list items is that someday he would release a series of albums/box sets from/called "The Vault". Something similar to Bob Dylan "The Bootleg Series", just unlimited volumes of live recordings and unreleased material.

One particular release I would like to see is Prince doing vocals on tracks he gave away. For example, whenever I listen to The Time or Jill Jones tracks, I just imagine Prince on lead vocals.

This is an idea for a release in that series. I'm thinking it would be about the sixth release out of the series, calling it something like "The Vault - All Day All Night, Volume 6" and would be something like this.

1. Cool

2. Mutiny

3. The Dance Electric

4. Gigolos get lonely too

5. Violet Blue

6. Pride and the Passion

7. Manic Monday

8. If I Could Get Your Attention

9. Get it Up

10. Blue Limousine

11. Ice Cream Castles

12. The Glamorous Life

13. 777-9311

14. The Screams of Passion

15. For Love

16. Train

17. High Fashion

18. My Drawers

19. 100 MPH

20. Baby Go-Go

21. Sticky Wicked

22. The Sex of it - Better Vocals than the unreleased version. Those vocals are very boring, imo.

23. Time Waits for No One

24. I Don't want to Leave

25. If I Love U 2 Nite

26. Desire

27. Neon Telephone

28. The Stick

29. Love...thy will be done

30. Yo Mister

31. Nothing Compares 2 U - studio version

32. All Day, All Night

What are your ideas for a releases in the "The Vault" series? Specific live shows, Unreleased Albums configurations, Rehearsals, Outtakes?

These list threads are strange to me, so many crop up at the same time.

I'd rather hear uncirculating/unreleased songs first, but some of Prince's versions are great, often because the lyrics, sound or themes are really more Prince than who ended up with the track - Dance Electric springs to mind, that track, lyrically, fits in with Prince's dance-till-armageddon themes like 1999 etc.

Would be interesting to hear Ice Cream Castles (which I never thought suited the Time), for similar reasons. Some other Time stuff, I don't think really benefits from swapping Morris for Prince. And Blue Limosine without Brenda?! omfg

Conversely, as much as I love The Family - St. Paul's horrible Jamie Starr impressions on Mutiny and High Fashion are cringeworthy. lol

I'd also prefer songs that are unreleased as well. But I'd definitely settle for his own versions of stuff that he gave away. Especially the big hits and the really, really good ones.

I've thought about this many times. I am often curious about what Prince had in mind when he recorded some of the songs he's given away.

I think an album of his 'demos' would be really cool.

as long as I am making wishes, I would like a horse too.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I'd love to hear a full version of I Love You (A Million Miles) with Prince on vocals.

My Drawers? That track COOKS. Not sure if Prince's voice would make it any better.
