The bands after this have rarely been seen to be a solid unit behind or with Prince, and for years has been a revolving door that makes me care less and less to the point I don't even know/care who's in the band any more.

So NPG wore thin, but it's gone on so long, and the band is so transitory, I don't care what he calls it.

same here. the last few years i have had absolutely no idea who was in his band when he

was on tour.

it wasn't until i heard a NY2010 boot that i thought to myself "ida? she's in the band now?

i just thought she was a one off guest in europe?"

now he's been seen and said to be checking out another possible new bass player and he

had a new, unknown, drummer in the studio last year or the year before that?

who can keep track? sheila comes and goes. morris comes and goes, renato is there on

and off, new and old back up singers, a return of the twins, or so i read on the org.

the band has no face or identity anymore. the last band i cared about, because they were

absolutely on fire and made the live experience phenomenal, was the ONA tour. after that

it was very hit and miss.

i don't think the band will have any kind of face anymore unless he cuts a great, great cd

with a band and actually gives those people some real attention. but without and online

presence or without cd's that have a booklet with photos and linernotes, all we'll hear of

new band members is a one off short blurb on dr funkenberry or such.

I thought it was because of NPG records label? Because everything under that name is exclusively his- from every note of music, hiring musicians, studio time, publishing, paying wages etc the band are also called NPG, so everything under that name is in his company and ownership.

Thats what i thought.
