Yeah maybe my question was a little uninformed. However someone on this site mentioned there were empty seats in New Jersey. That got me curious.

He needs time to sell out the venue.

That's 'cuz Jersey's WHACK! lol JK....obviously, Izod and MSG are pretty close and had I had the chance to choose, I would have chosen The Garden even though I live 15 mins away from Izod....

I just did four shows in three days - and I'm exhausted. I don't blame him one bit.

YOu ain't lying. I couldn't even sleep after getting home from Prince's show. My chest hurt, my heart couldn't stop beating so fast from all the physical activity and excitement and screaming. That's just too much for me. It took like 2 days for me to calm down and recoop and I'm only a spectator....I'm good now though.

I think the most obvious reason (besides money) is that he has to go around venue and areana scheds. If he sells out a show, and wants to add another one because of "popular demand" he has to work with dates that are availible. I'm just thankful that MSG continued to add more shows. smile

Uh...he's just being Prince. He could make tons of money with a "Real" tour like Musicology, where the tickets were on sale well in advance, and was as least somewhat well-planned. This tour has no focus, and you are lucky if he plays even One song from his most recent album. Of course with Musicology, the new songs we got were not the best that CD had to offer.

This tour seems to be "Prince will hang around New York for several months, and have a show every now and then."

For those of you who like to research such things, go to Pollstar.com and check the tour schedules of other artists, and you will see long lists of cities bringing in tons of money.

So he can have a record of sell outs in one year at MSG?

Doesn't Billy Joel hold that record?

I actually liked the layout of the IZOD better.

Seen him once on the Musicology tour and I've been waiting ever since sad Some orgers wanted to go and stand outside the event here in Dallas, but I wanna see him in person. Been a fan since 81 I think he can give his Dallas fans better eek

He actually sets the prices? hope not..

This particular event is for charity for the benefit of music education for the youths. That I believe is the amount for seating for the donations. He doesn't have anything to do with that except that he is performing.

I hope you don't think I was saying he was doing it for money. (Actually I don't even know what you're saying.) My point was that he had to go around the scheds of the venues like anyone else and the shows were being sold out so shows were added at appropriate times. But then again, I get your point that Prince is being Prince. I get that he's just hanging out and playing whenever and wherever suits him. But, hey...what do I know. It was just an observation.

Oh. I haven't been there before. Still I'd choose MSG over IZOD 'cuz it just feels right since I'm from NYC to go to a show there. That's just me. I guess I gotta think outside the box. lol

We NJ people always have to travel into NYC or down to Philly to see shows. It was nice to be able to not have to deal with the Lincoln Tunnel for a couple of days.

I would ABSOLUTELY love if he played at the Prudential Center or NJPAC in Newark. That is like 15 minutes from my house!

Oh, I think MSG has terrible acoustics. It's a sports arena, not a music venue.

I have friends in Brooklyn and Queens, and it takes me much longer to get to their places than it did to get to the Izod. It's a very cheap and quick train ride from Penn Station. If he wanted to go back there, I'd be fine with that. Also, they don't have that silly "out-by-11" rule, do they?

I'm not sure why he's spacing the shows out but I don't mind cause my wallet can breath and "gain some weight" again. lol The spacing of the shows don't bother me at all, the fact that he's here in my hometown is enough for me. We've been waiting for quite a while and now it's our turn to get some love. Soon, it'll be some other area's turn and I'll be happy for them too.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I paid 30 dollars Canadian each for my Lovesexy tour tickets in May of 88. And now the poster from Dallas says he's asking for 1500 dollars a ticket. He's out of his mind if he thinks I'm paying that and I've been a die hard fan for 25 years.

The man is a living legend for god sakes!.....i would do ANYTHING for those tickets!

I seem to remember myself saying this a couple times in regard to Prince tickets!! lol

I think its a combination of Prince being Prince and playing when he wants too (which is totally his perogative and kind cool when you think about being at that level) and working around the venue schedule. He is playing MSG cause he can sell out that venue, he could always pick other places in NY to play. Which would make me happy. It sucks for us who don't live in NY and have to face traveling there. Its inconvenient and expensive. If the dates were closer together, it'd be easier to attend these shows. I thought the 4 original mid-Dec shows were perfectly spaced (14th, 15th, 17th, 18th) and made it very easy and affordable to attend.

MSG is famous for having great acoustics. But the Garden has limits; too many bands play too loud for an indoor venue, and the loud echos turn shrill, which is not a problem limited to MSG. Prince sounded great, thought.

I'm secretly hoping that he continues adding Garden dates, especially weekend dates - there's only so many lectures that I can miss!

I'm also hoping for a resedency - "One night with Prince: Twise a week". wink
