Who do you think Prince would leave his Estate to? Prince sings and has references in a few of his songs, we don't live forever. So who do you think Prince would leave his Estate to??? Parents deceased. No wife, no kids, and from past stories not to fond up his sister and step brother / step sisters. I guess charity is a option or some of his closest friends, prince.org members. hee hee

I just hope his unreleased music ends up in the hands of someone with half a brain.

Maybe, he has a neice or nephew that he's close to. Or possibly a godchild. Who knows.

knowing prince he will probably have everything unreleased destroyed and everything released go out of print. signing off and signing out.
let's hope he has a decent plan in place tho so there won't be a circus and half assed, nonsensical released left right and center.

This is a great question: I'm sure Larry Graham's in the will somewhere, I bet the rest goes to charity, music in schools or something

what? "signing off and signing out"
prince, if you need someone to handle your estate, give me a call. as you can see from my posting rate on here, i don't really have a life worth mentioning, so i can be on call night and day.
i'll make your coffee and shine your shoes and all. i'll even arrange your early 90s swimsuits by color and wave a cattle prod at divinity if she comes within a 2 mile radius of paisley park. pretty please prince...
i promise i won't copy any of the vault content onto usb

We have no idea what Prince has in place to deal with his music/studio etc, but it will be great if at least some of it is released in some way.
Jimi Hendrix's family are doing a great job (imo) with the recent releases. The high quality albums and the very nice recent box set are good examples of what can be done if the music is looked after properly and dealt with sympathetically.

Haha! lol, just gave it away Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! ![]()

it would be almost humanly impossible to sift through his material and not make a copy for private use.
imagine being in his vault, or having access to his unreleased material with him telling you to sift through it, arrange it and catalogue it all.
it would make my head explode with extacy
which would be a shame since it would probably be the best job in the world e.v.e.r. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I would collapse, nice reference there too Don't let it get caught in the VCR when converting those pre-Purple Rain shows to DVD, hehe.
let some idiot get hold of these things without careful preservation precautions. That would be the end of the purple world... Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! ![]()

Really interesting thread. We all check out eventually and most of us have just some stuff that's precious to a few people, but hopefully he'll take care that his body of work is handled in a way he is pleased with.
I'd hope that in 50 years they're not selling Prince tours of an "Erotic City" with assless pants as the 2 door entrance or worse yet, that he'd be forgotten because of destroyed materials or family in-fighting.
Makes me think of how in 50-100 years, his legacy will play out and wondering whose legacies have been handled well (someone said Hendrix's) and whose could have been handled better.

This question has been brought up a zillion times
The only person who has the answer to that question is the purple yoda himself. ![]() Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

probably the church or charity is the most realistic option. and he may well put clauses to prevent at least some unreleased stuff from coming out
but then again, knowing prince he may have nothing planned and ignored calls to plan for this, so it ends up being split amongst remaining relatives who will probably fight over the legacy and fuck it up
now if he left it to me, that would be the best option and i could trawl the vaults and release all the good stuff

I hope Prince makes some babies with his GF, he is still young and full of energy.

on 60 minutes, they did a story about a firm in Indianapolis that deals with the estates likenesses/images of dead celebrities/figureheads. It was pretty interesting.
