When was the last time we heard P do a song from Emancipation Live? It's one of my favorite albums and I have yet to hear any of these songs live in concert. I was too young to go to P concerts when the album came out. Has he been doing any of them in Europe? And if not, do you think it has to do with the fact that they're mostly about Mayte, and he doesn't want to relive that whole period of his life? Just thinking out loud...

Also, has anyone heard Ripopgodazippa live?

i doubt its because of Mayte. Prince never has a problem playing " Adore" which was written for Sussanah, so i doubt he'd have a problem playing something from emancipation

I understand that Prince has to play his hits but he can still switch the setlist around more. i dont think he's played anything from emancipation in a long time

i have seen a videop with Ripopgodazippa !

He has played a couple of Emancipation songs on the JOTY tour in 1997 - Jam Of The Year, Face Down, Sleep Around, One Of Us, the title track - but other than that it was mostly a boring Hits tour.

Apart from the mentioned tracks, he played La-La (Means I Love You), One Kiss At A Time and the most recent being The Love We Make, which he played in 2009, since.

But you're right, tracks from that period are very rare nowadays. The only song he seems to play in big shows is Shhh (a fantastic one, still) and Chaos and I Like It There during some aftershows (especially with the power trio).

C3L.A.BRAtION 2009 CD 3 has Dreamin About U, but it's the band minus Prince.

Yea, but Adore is such a materpiece, he couldn't just not play it anymore...

I still think he'd just rather skip that whole era in his brain. OF course I coould be wrong
