Funny thing about the "Hot Thing" edit So I've been doing a little .wav editing on my own to re-create some 7" edits that have never been available on CD. Most of them really aren't that difficult at all. On of them is "Hot Thing" since the version that I downloaded that someone ripped from vinyl and cleaned up, while nice, is not pristine.
Anyone notice there's an extra scream thrown in at around 2:50 to cover the edit from the vocal into the second horn passage? I had never heard that before, until I went hunting for the pieces to connect to recreate the edit from the album version and realized it's nowhere to be found in that section (though it may be a repated scream from earlier in the song).
Not that interesting, I know, but I thought I'd share it for the more anal retentive among you that must document these things in case you hadn't noticed it, or heard that version. [Edited 1/18/11 19:54pm] | |

Looks awesome though does anyone know if these sets contain the Mono edits found on the early singles such 'Still Waiting' and 'Delirious'??? |

These are all commercially released edits and not promos. I don't believe there were any commercial mono edits - correct me if I'm wrong about that. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

I think one of the Fun With Vinyl releases contained both the stereo and mono edits of Let's Pretend We're Married? or maybe it was 7" In The Computer. | |

Great release^^^ It's the only Mono mix I have, been desperately searching for the others - Still Waiting, Just As Long As We're Together, 1999, and Delirious (I think that's all of them?) And you're right squirrelgrease, they are all found on their respective promos - just wasn't quite sure what this Virtual Singles Box was covering. Thanks for the help guys. |
