Has Prince played 'America'...

... at any of the W2A gigs? Seems odd if he didn't. What's the significance of 'Welcome 2 America' anyway?

Sorry if this has already discussed, but wading thru each of concert threads is too much work for me. wink

He has not played 'America', but he has played the new song, 'Welcome 2 America'.

Wonder if it might not go along with the JW as they do not do any type of patriotic stuff. It is unfortunate cause it can be one helluva song live!! If any JW out there know the specifics please share.

I didn't realize there is a song called, "Welcome 2 America." Could you post the lyrics?

Thank you if you do.

Can we get 2gether
To talk about everything?
We can talk about all of our dreams
Better yet darling...
We can talk about sleeping in.~0ne

Interesting lyrics. But I still detest Prince waxing poetic about sociopolitical issues.

Backing vox "Welcome 2 America" sung by the females, with Prince rapping the lyrics mostly.

Groove reminiscent of Parliament's "P.Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up)"

What about "All The Critics Love U In New York"? He was all about that song overseas.

Thanks again for the info! cool

But this further confirmation that Prince is nuttier than a fruit cake. He plays it in Europe and New Jersey, but NOT New York? Gotta love it.
