His out-of-this-world confidence. I love how Prince broke boundaries and made people realize that you can't judge a book by its cover. I love how he is who he is and you either like it, love it, or leave it. In my case, I love it, always have. Becoming a Prince fan was very liberating for me...really inspired me and made me feel like I could do anything. Of course, his music is amazing, I can listen to it all day and not really need any other music. Add the fact that Prince is drop dead gorgeous and oh-so-sexy..and you have a devoted fan for life! Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol | |

 Wow! Where do I begin? I was 10yrs old when I became a fan. At 1st I would have to say it was his sexiness.Now that I have grown older I have come to appreciate his ability to keep his unique creativity and individuality and never change just for the sake of what other artist do. He is also a smart busineeman who owns his own masters and has encouraged other artist to do the same.All in all I must say he is a musical genius. | |

His triumph over a tumultuous home life (at least, as I saw it in the Purple Rain film at age 13). I already loved the music, but this cemented it for me. He kinda became my 'imaginary big brother', there. |

First thing, he was pretty, then I found out he had a quiet sexiness about him, then he opened his mouth and sung, danced, and played. All in that order.

At first I liked him because of his music. I would not call myself a fan but I liked his well known hits (Kiss, When Doves Cry..etc.)
Next, I was impressed and intrigued when I realized how many instruments he can play. The art of being a true musician is lost in today's music.
Finally I became a fan when I watched a live performance by him. I was at the edge of my seat, singing and dancing watching his live performance.
So I became a fan when I realized that he is a great singer, musician and performer. Oh yeah and the fact that he looks just as good at the age of 52 as he did at 20.

I was 16 years of age in 1984. Here in the UK I could see that Prince stood out from everyone else: Purple Rain: The imagery, the performances, the band, proteges.
: his musicianship both live and in the studio were unique and as I delved into Prince's back catalogue the more I began to realise this guy was/ is something extraordinary.
