most recently i was looking at prince videos for fun and boredom

and i just notice how crappy alot of princes videos are ..

no wonder he doesn't want them played on youtube ..

but i watched the video for i wish heaven .... lovely song but what a terrible video

I love the I Wish U Heaven video. Te Amo Corazon is the epitome of the pretentiously self-absorbed and over-budgeted promo film.

I think it's Pasiley Park he did a video for from ATWIAD, which was horrible. I wanted to see some Prince, not everyone else and their mommas

But I guess....

I don't think any music video by Prince is really great. I'd pick Alphabet St. to be the worst.

i understand what the song is about, but the video just confuses me!

I'm not really a fan of his videos. They don't really interest me.

honestly i dont think ^ these videos that are all that great either

i feel bad but i can't find one video that's GOOD

That one could have been done so-oo much better!

I love the "I Wish U Heaven" video I think it captures the heavenly spirit of the album.

Why does everyone hate this video? I like it! It's reminscent of those early 80s videos with small budgets.Very simple and playful.

I agree,this video is embarassing.Prince's outfit is atrocious and the video consists of scenes lifted directly from the movie Remember how "When Doves Cry" featured a few clips from the fillm,but also featured new footage that wasn't part of the movie? That was cool and creative."Thieves In The Temple" is a lazy video.

This happens to be one of my favourite videos, the cheap and cheerful imagery, and the typical Prince story behind how it was rushed out, all adds to it's charm imo.

I'm sorry, but I really disagree with that. The video served the purpose of making people focus on the lyrics, which was the right thing to do IMO. If he had done the same thing with another song it wouldn't work, but it did the trick with SOTT. And of course it was really risky of him to this, because MTV may not have given him airplay because of the "crappy" video.

I agree, SOTT is a great video.

I have to disagree Videos with just words are boring! Yes,I get what Prince was trying to do (keep the focus on the lyrics with no distractions) but those types of videos aren't fun to watch.

But a song such as SOTT needed a video the way it was made, if it had been Prince jumping around shaking his ass it could have made the song content meaningless.

It might have a funky groove, but i don't think the intention was to make the song fun.

Just my opinion.

Has anyone ever made the Sign O' The Times video into a screensaver?

The Paisley Park video could have been great if they'd put a bit more effort into it, maybe had the Revolution feature in it here and there or actually had children dressed as them or something.... ah well.
