whats the cleanest sounding version of this song? I have the one on the work, is that the best sounding one?

the only versions i have are the live studio version and of course the 1st Avenue MPLS performance in '83.

^No 'live studio versions' exist. We just have rehearsals and a live take.

Is there a studio version of Electric Interourse out there, too?? Is it reason to believe that Prince has recorded ALL songs he has as studio versions, although they have only been released as live pieces???

You do have to watch EI with the video. Weird to watch Prince sweat, a rarity. This could prove that he did do drugs at one time. He usually never sweats. Hell, at the superbowl the rain never touched him..lol

Didn't he sweat pretty profusely on all the tours he danced around the stage a lot? I seem to remember him being pretty wet during the SOTT and Parade shows where he takes his shirt off.

He was sweating because it was August...in Minneapolis...and it was extremely hot inside the club that night. To say nothing of the fact that he was working up a sweat onstage.

Well, that's opinion. The actual released version is a studio recording using the 8/3/83 version as a backing track, so it is really a mash up of live and studio. If you listen to the live version from First Ave, the lyrics are different, so a great portion of the released track is from the studio. I think enough is from the studio to not allow the use of the term "Overdubs."

I like all the versions of this i have, i don't have a favourite, it's just a great great song.

I dont know I love ALL versions..But I've been playing the Electric Intercourse rehearsals #1 and 2# from the July rehearsal sessions ALOT.. They're amazing

And what's with this sweating drug thing? This is some new dirt dished up here I've never heard of before. I do admit, this is the only concert I've seen him sweat that much. But the temp in the club must've been high and everyone was packed up close; plus there were no fans like there are at real concert halls to keep the band cool
