Does anyone know if Prince owns the rights to One of Us or I Can't Make You Love Me? I know these are cover songs but I had heard that he liked the song so much that he outright bout the rights to it. I think it was One of Us, however I am not sure. I have a bet going with some one about this. Any info at all would be appreciated.

Um, Prince wrote "Do Me Baby". Andre claimed it was based off his bassline. But there's a lot more to that song than just a bassline.

As for PartyUp, Prince bought the song off Morris and gave him a career. Pretty much a fair exchange and I doubt Morris is mad about it.

I'm not sure I follow what you mean...I meant would it really be morally right for Prince to complain he doesn't have control over his own songs but to hold the control on another established artists material

it was just a joke about prince not having wrote those two songs.
