I loved this song long before I found out it was about his son, but once I did find out it made it more heartfelt for his son who would've been 14 years old this year. I wonder had he lived what would P be like today music-wide!!!!

HOLY CRAP, I hadn't thought of how many years it's been, that's crazy, it's hard to imagine him with a teenage child. But boy, with the genetic combo of Mayte & Prince, there was a chance for a beautiful and multi-talented human being.

This song and Comeback always choke me up, Prince opening up like that and hearing in his voice how truly heartbroken he really was by it....bawl

I'm not sure if this is considered cheap in the UK but you can get it here for seven pounds:

This song is not about his son dying. Not at all. Neither is Wasted Kisses. You're imposing false meaning upon lyrics which isn't there and its not an interpretation issue either. You're reading it completely wrong. A quick glance at the words should show this, and even Prince wouldn't be so crass to mix and match his emotions over his son's death with the regret of a failed relationship. Some people just want this guy on his knees, spilling his soul. It will never happen. He very rarely gives fodder to the psychos who want a piece of his pain. The only released track which explicitly refers to the death is Comeback, which Prince himself spoke of in an interview around the time. [Edited 1/16/11 3:45am]

Wasted Kisses is definitely about a dying relationship, not the baby. But 'Arms' has to be about him, just listen to his voice in his screams, that's not coming from his dick, but his broken heart.
