19, be 20 this month. been a fan since the age of 2

Any Prince fans here in their teens or early 20s??

I'm just wondering...since most of his fans are probably in their 30s now and got hooked on him during his peak in the 80s...anyone here became a fan in the late '90s or after?? what attracted you to Prince's music...


LOL. I just turned 20 last week and i had a crush on Prince when i was 3! My mom would play Purple Rain when i was a baby to put me to sleep cause my dad always sang it and he was in the army, so he was gone most of the time.
But yeah, been a fan since '84!

28 and funky been a Fan since I was 5 Mom put Prince on as my lullaby while she shook her booty at Studio 54 I tell everyone Prince was my baby sitter in a way

April 7, 1978: The release date of "For You" and the birth date of FunkMistress. It was meant to be! And I've been a Prince fan literally since the beginning. I'm one of the lucky ones whose mama knew the deal!

Prince got my attention when was three ("1999"), and then hooked me 4ever when was four ("Purple Rain"). I can hear y'all saying, "No way, man. U r 2 young 2 remember '83/'84." But do, so there!

i'm 21 and i got hooked on prince last year. i went on a business trip last year to san antonio and went to a club and two guys were singing purple rain and they were really good so when i got home i bought a few prince cds and joined npgmc and since then i've been hooked.

My 1st recollection of him was seeing a few minutes of Purple Rain on City Tv many moons ago. My parents just sat there, giggling away, & my father would not stop joking about the “stalker alert scene” when Prince & his mega-glasses show up behind Apollonia in 1st ave. I remember my dad going on about how any sane person would have run from him since he looked as if he was wearing a tinted wind shield over his eyes lol... & theres the voice in my head going “yipes... where have they gone wrong with me? I actually think this guy is cool, he would have 2 b if he has guts 2 do some of what hes doing”. Hehehe But at that time I honestly wasnt thinking 2 much about carrying thru with the sudden liking 2 him, probably being that I was so young.

Then, again in 91/92/93/94 he was popping up in a lot of conversations id been having with my father 1ce again). We were loving the fact that we could joke that pretty soon the man would b known as “the” lol (poor guy was always an easy target 4 us)... little did I know that it really was his eccentricities (esp those shown thru the name change), coupled with my own that would l8r seal my fate as a Prince admirer :p

I honestly think it’s good that I started liking him further in his career, since I feel I have been able 2 invest a lot more thought & appreciation 2ward the music & not just the hype that initially cr8ed Prince in/of the media. Plus i love blastin 2 the past...

i had been hearin about him since i was 5, in 1987 but i didn't discover him till 11 years old in 93' when i heard the beautiful "pink cashmere"... when i heard him go in2 the solo at the end of pink cashmere i had tears in my eyes and i've been a fan ever since...

I'm 24, and have loved Prince since age: 7...
Other ppl around me range from 14-40(something) that I know Love Prince and I can count on all my fingers and toes lol

16.. became an 80's freak at the age of 13.. at the age of 14 I became a hardcore Prince freak.. Can't really tell you what made me a fan.. At a point I couldn't stand him (about 4-5years ago) always made jokes about him and all that stuff.. but now I'm hooked!!.. (thank god).. I dont think there is a song that made me hooked or anything, I just liked his stuff.. I think Raspberry Beret was the one that made me realize he was great.. but I dont know really.. I'm just happy that I'm a fan, couldn't live without his music!

i´m 25 and i love prince since i´m 15 !
