Prince really loved Mayte as seen in this interview. Was she just an inspiration for a music - a muse?

I am amazed at all the photos and interviews with Prince about Mayte, how much in love he seems to be. But was she just another muse?

How many people pull a cracker out of their pocket on national TV and don't give a F*CK!

I would do the same myself.

And we will bring some cheese....coo!

I hope it's ok to link this video. If not, I seriously think the rules here need to be upraded.

No one knows but Prince...but I think that he really loved Mayte at the time and that she was also his muse... But, life happens and it didn't work. But I think the music he made during this time was really inspired... wink

I believe she was a 'muse' and inspiration in his life at that time just like Jill Jones, Susan Moonsie, Susannah Melvoin, Manuela T. and Vanity all were 'muses' of his at one time or another. He drew inspiration from their relationships to write some beautiful music. It was all autobiographical too.

yeahthat I don't care what folks say, he LOVED that woman like no other. I think she was his idea of perfection! Which really can hurt you when you realize this person isn't what you thought they were or realize they aren't perfect after all. She definately inspired him. But life goes on...

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

i think he did really love her, and that makes me sad when i think about him getting his heart broken, and picturing him being lonely. i think its real hard for him, because when ur famous i think its hard to tell who r ur real friends, and who just want to get things from u. sometimes he semes kinda depressed and lonely....sad

I would not know anything about P, other musical artists, and many events if not for YouTube.

In praise of them-they are the PEOPLE's view and the great equalizer of the have and the have-nots!

Not everyone can afford to chemtrail across the country to see concerts!

Prince loves himself and his music more than anything. He surrounds himself with pretty women, but the way he treated them I think he loved them but in a different and his own way.

That's all of us, including Prince. We all have preconceived ideas about what we think or feel love is. Just like I used to believe that if you have love, you can over-come any and everything. That's back when I was a 20 somethin' year on kid. P is in his early 50's now and I know or think he has a well rounded view of what love is. I believe we all have a 'muse' of some sort at one time or another in life and it helps us to be inspired to go on or wake up and 'be' day to day.

Mayte was that to Prince just like Vanity was that to Prince. Now that I mention it, this reminds me of how we all know or should know back in the day Vanity nka Denise Matthews was a coke-head and I know that must have broke P's heart that she just up and left him for drugs and a celebrity lifestyle she was cravin'. She's not the same person now as we all know but, I believe P still has that 'muse', like with his wife Bria (I believe their married, now).

I think it's a given that after their baby passed away, the relationship was seriously affected by it, prob. blamed each other, blamed themselves, and I think that ties in to Prince getting even deeper into studying religion. That kind of thing will make you take inventory of how you conduct your life, and unfortunately, I don't think he really had his heart in the relationship from that point on.

Talk 2 her? So I gather you heard all this from the horses mouth? Even IF what you say is true, Prince Dogging her, Doesn't mean he did not Love her. I Think even Stevie Wonder could see that Prince loved her with all his heart.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I don't joke about things so serious. I meant that even if you were blind you could see.....

I know what you mean...I hate seeing him so sad. You can see the hurt in him even when he is smiling, you can see he's hiding it. Breaks my heart.. Prince does look lonely alot.. I remember on Christmas I said to my sister "I wonder what Prince is doing today. I wonder if he is alone." I hate thinking that he could be alone and sad at a time when most people spend with their families. I remember how I felt when I lived in away from all family....

He has his faults, but doesn't everyone? He had it rough growing up.. we know he can have a mean side, he admitted that on Tavis, but he has a good heart. And the poor guy just deserves and needs real, unconditional love. Everybody does.. OK, I'm inspired, going to write a song about P.

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

And how do you know she wasn't a real bitch to him? You don't. She ain't as innocent as some folks make her out to be. 2 sides to every story. And I've always heard Prince left Mayte or "sent her to Spain." We don't know the details, its all just speculation from everyone anyways.

Not quite the same...he didn't marry Jill or Susan or Susannah or Vanity. He married Mayte and Mani...big difference. Especially in Prince's world. Plenty have came and went in and out of his bed, but Mayte and Mani got a ring...That's a BIG DEAL!!

True and he's 'paying' for it now (alimony for both of em). I think it's more a Big Deal to women then it is men, Prince may be a lil different with that comparison though, he's not like 'most' men.

I've had many muses that I wrote lyrics for. It is an incredible time for you creatively. You are trying everything to impress that person, especially if you are so in love with them.

With these two, I think too many things came in contact with their love. The problems with the record company left a bad taste. There were so many changes he was going through, musically and professionally. Only the man knows for sure.
