Best Celebration 2002 Acoustic Guitar Track? Hi! I've recently heard a few of the acoustic guitar tracks played at the 2002 Celebration and I was wondering what other songs he played.
So far I've heard "Don't Play Me", which I quite like, "Alphabet St." and "Last December" which I really like, and "Motherless Child", which is ok. What other tracks should I look out for? That must have been a cool part of the week. Damn, I'm so jealous! What is the best acoustic track he played?

I like the combination of "Girls & Boys/Motherless Child"
and the way they segue into one another. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

i didnt like this set. I felt that princes 'on the spot' playing was very poor, sloppy even. On several ocasions he loses his time and placing within the music. It was a little too like noodling to me. However, on the other hand, prince often displays some of his finest vocal moments in such solo musical scenarios (eg by alone by the piano, the truth album). For me, prince has a beautiful 'blues' vocal style which i believe with the more musical consideration could relate so much. You do as I say

When Prince was playing the first song that nite at the celebration, I didn't think i would like it, but what an awesome nite. Prince's playing that nite was unbelievalble. What a moment when everybody gave him a standing ovation. This is a concert I will never forget.

Whole lotta love wasn't so good. It sounded pretty lifeless and without any of the 'OOMPH' it should have.
Highlight of the set for me was "7". Really soulful, heartfelt version IMO. Better than when he did it in London because he sings it himself this time. I know u people worthless scum give no heart but wrath of insults a brain-driven wave of destruction your bite is worse than your vocabulary. Shame on you all of you. Go feed your pigs coward.

The accoustic version of 7 is joyous and uplifting. It has never been a fave song of mine but when i was playing the accoustic set in my car, damn did i sing along to that track. The highlight of that performance.

yep, 7 was fantastic. The only way he should perform this from now on. That whole set though convinced me that prince should insert some acoustic only pieces in all his live shows.
