Wow thanks!!! So these tapes were purchased in 2001 weren't they?
Was The Undertaker the 1993 version or the 1995 version?
Was The Sacrifice Of Victor the 1993 broadcast version or the 1995 version? (I think the only difference is that Prince was credited as on the MTV broadcast and as Prince on the VHS release.) |

Funny you post this as a couple of days ago I cleared a couple of thousand bootlegs off of iTunes. I hate poor sound quality. I don't care if it's the best version of "insert song" out there. If it sounds like a tape recorder in a tin can then I won't listen to it.
So does anybody have a list of the best boots? Sixteen versions of Darlin Nicky ain't my cup of tea either Nor is a 45 minute version of any song. By anyone. Ever. Apart from Pink Floyd. |

Ok, so 3 questions:
1) U're saying that these videos were released in 2001, at the beginning of NPGMC? Am i correct? If not then when?
2) Did they have cover art and stuff? If so what did they look like (were TU and TSOV the same than the WB releases? and what did TBE look like?)
As 4 the quality and their claim not to have any other copy, it's SOOOOOOOOO weird
This is what The vault has to say about the original Undertaker video.
original release date..Dec 6th 1993.
This is the original version of The Undertaker film, which was slightly revised for the official '95 release. The video was a limited edition of 1000 copies and sold for $50 each. the original version focuses on the "live" performance, ommiting the footage of Vanessa Marcil. It contains the full version of Poor Goo (a portion of which was edited out of the '95 version of the film) and a full live version of Dolphin (instead of overdubbing the ending with the studio recording of the song, as was done on the '95 version of the film).
No company is listed i.e WB.
The release date on this was 1993 and limited to 1000 copies, so maybe copies were made and sold in 2001?
Oh by the way, as u have The Vault book (and i don't), do they specify the exact broadcast date for The Sacrifice Of Victor in 1993 (i saw it on MTV Europe at the time, i think it was september or october 1993, idk if it was broadcast on MTV USA b4 that, or on other channels)? I'd love to find this date and be able t add it to my discog. I also think that except for the credit change ( in 93 and Prince in 95) the TV and VHS versions were absolutely similar but maybe the vault says that there r differences. Thanks |

Well here are my favs:
1. Box O Chocolates
2. Dawn 4.1
3. Dream Factory
4. Purple Rain Homemade Deluxe Edition
Sound quality in these three is excellent IMO |

I don't remember The Undertaker being sold... I thought it was just these two. Yes These were purchased on 2001. I wish I could find my email correspondence. Maybe I can. |

Thanks I don't need the exact release dates 4 the 2001 rereleases, though, since my discog only lists the original releases/broadcast dates, so don't work too hard at finding ol' emails. What i now DO need to know is if the 1993 video and canceled 1993 audio of The Undertaker are exactly similar, and the exact broadcast date for TSOV in 1993.
Still, it's kinda funny because this all means that TBE video was an official release in 2001, but the original 1994 broadcast was much better quality Prince's discography is full of oddities like that... Weird weird weird...

Yes, the run time for the original version of The Undertaker is listed as 36 minutes.
The Sacrafice of Victor was first broadcast on MTV Europe on 22nd January 1994. No other broadcast is mentioned (other channels).
Both TSOV and The Undertaker were released by Warners as home videos on 6th March 1995. And no mention is made of the broadcast and released versions of TSOV being different.

Many thanks!!! I moved TSOV at the right date (God i was so SURE that i'd seen it much earlier than early 1994, it's funny the way our memory sometimes cheats us ^^). as for The Undertaker it needss more work so i'll do it at a later date (but i just added the original release in 1993, without any additionnal detail).
It's funny because, as i always consider the first release of an album to be "canon", it makes the original Undertaker to become my "canon" Undertaker instead of the WB release. It's kinda sad cuz i loved the intro and outro, and to hear Vanessa Marcil puke |

One of my favorite rehearsals. I love that version of Something In The Water and Possessed and Our Destiny. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" |
