This is probably the only unreleased album that I have no knowledge of. However, the tracks Mardrid 2 chicago, and breathe are two awesome tracks, I was wondering what other tracks where pinned to this release...If any?

Naw, I don't think so. The Last December was mentioned in a tourbook that was released waaaay after TRC came out (TRC came out in November, the ONA Tour began in March). It was promoted as an additional album to fulfill the contract, remember?

M2C definitely wasn't High or Choco. But that's just it - no information as to what it actually was. I think this is one of those things that the only people who could illuminate on the topic are Borish Fishpaw, etc.

Just found :

Madrid 2 Chicago, described as a "smooth jazz album". It is not known whether this was a finished sequenced album or if it didn't amount to more than a few songs. The project dates to 1998 and was probably somethingPrince recorded after the completion of Newpower Soul. It may at one point have been intended as the next solo album, as Newpower Soul was attributed to The NPG. The musical backdrop consists of little more than a bass drum and some synth touches. Princecombines a whispered spoken vocal with his falsetto singing, creating an intimate atmosphere. The number clocks in at just over 2 minutes. Describing an intense foreplay, Prince encourages his partner to "breathe in, breathe out" and to take him "into the deepest part of your emotion".

Madrid 2 Chicago was officially announced at the Celebration 2000 event, June 2000 at Paisley Park (voting for the preferred next album Prince should release). This collection was described as a "smooth jazz album".

Rumoured tracks were "Madrid 2 Chicago" and "Breathe." I'm not certain if other tracks were ever announced.

Well I guess its clear then that Madrid 2 Chicago morphed into what's now TRC, then.

I don't think more tracks were slated for this. In fact, I don't even believe the actual album was ever configured.

I love M2C but I think Breathe is one of the most horrible tracks Prince could've ever recorded.

if anything from the time period of that album has ended up on other releases

than i'm sure that "golden parachute" is the most likely candidate to have been

intended for the madrid 2 chicago album at an earlier date.

Another recording project dating to circa 1998 was a planned album entitled Beautiful Strange. The title track was later released on Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic. A second song slated for the album was Joni Mitchell’s “Twisted” (from Court And Spark, 1974). Prince had a lyric book titled Beautiful Strange on some early dates on the 2002 One Nite Alone… tour and “Twisted” was one of the songs featured in the book. The song was played only once on the tour. Although the track “Beautiful Strange” existed in mid-1998 (it was included in the Beautiful Strange TV production broadcast in October 1998), it may not necessarily mean that an entire album was completed by that time. “Madrid 2 Chicago” is a gentle, subdued, and somewhat mellow soul number, starting off with a slow, intricate drum machine pattern. The arrangement is very sparse, focusing on the drums and some synth touches. Prince is longing for his woman, “I got you on my mind, you on my mind, nothing but you on my mind.” The title of the song came from the flight Prince had grown accustomed to when Mayte was temporarily living in Spain.

According to NPG Music Club, “Madrid 2 Chicago” was going to be included on an album entitled Madrid 2 Chicago. The track was recorded in 1998 although it is difficult to pinpoint more exactly.

Love the song Madrid 2 Chicago. I wish we had a lossless version.

not sure about that. Golden Parachute was supposedly about Clive Davis after he was osuted from Arista, which happened after Prince released Rave through them. Madrid 2 Chicago was originally mentioned prior to Rave.

I didn't realize hers was a cover.

I'm 100% certain that "The Last December" was actually the original name 4 "One Nite Alone... Live". There's no way Prince could release an album called by the name of a studio track from a previous album even if a new version was there, and he obviously planned to release the ONA tour on record from day one. I don't know why no one ever mentions this, it's quite obvious.

I'm in love with the 2 M2C songs we have, both of 'em. I can just hope that P one day releases the whole collection...

Regarding the tracklisting of The Last December album or the Greatest Hits album, I've had a discussion over those titles with Femi JYIA during the Celebration 2002.

Those 'albums' have never existed in such a form.

Those names were dropped in the tourbook as a joke from Prince to tease us for the NPGMC Year 2.

At least, that's what Femi believes.

From what I heard...

Last December = live album, recorded on the One Nite Alone tour (probably an early single CD version of what became "One Nite Alone...Live!")

The Very Best of = a collection of 'Prince' hits re-recorded by "" (possibly a best of collection of the so called 'new masters')

On the Sabotage bootleg "One Nite Alone In Washington," one of the discs contains two soundchecks.

On one of the soundchecks, Prince and band play first a short instrumental version of Twisted, and then they perform a short version with vocals.

Very jazzy, with Rhonda on double bass, lovely.
