the song baby off for you this is my fave cd and i've always wondered if there is any truth to this song. i mean if this happened and the girl didn't keep it then that's even sadder considering what happened to gregory. this man is too brilliant not to pass his DNA on!
i can't play that song without smiling cause it's so cute the whole album....

Same thng I always thought whenever I listened to it, but didn't think it was worth the thread to ask. But he answered the bubbling question in early interviews when he said that, b4 Dirty Mind, he merely placed himself in situtations (that he thought he would kno the answer to). Prince was more of a love-experience, emotional album.
But nevertheless still a great song . Other than Soft & Wet & Crazy U, I love this song too. Have to place the needle on the track everytime I spin that album Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!! |

No, at the time when I had first listened to the album way back when, (hint: when the Org had a much nastier mentality), I, personally, didn't think it was worth the trouble to ask myself. No reference to u whatsoever. In other words, glad u posted Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. That's not what happen to Prince and Mayte's child Gregory. The child was born but passed away about a week after birth due to complications. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U. |

I though Prince "pulled the plug" as in killed him. |

Why did you think he "pulled the plug".. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U. |

I read it in an article. He didn't want the baby to live a complicated life so he decided to end the baby's life by taking him off life support. |

They said the baby's cause of death was complications of Pfieffer's syndrome Type 2, a rare skull deformity. But who knows if Prince himself wanted them to pull the plug. Prince wouldnt comment too much about the death at the time. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U. |

i know that. thats not what i meant. i meant if he did indeed knock a girl up as a teen or early 20's and then yrs later how he lost gregory after being taken off the life support cause of the pfieffer syndrome...it would be even worse if it was true and that baby back then may have been fine but never had a chance to be alive...i just don't believe in abortion unless your raped.
but it was already answered that it's not true.. |

You made it seem like Mayte had an abortion..And of course this song is based off of jus a creative mind not to be taken seriously. Plus "Baby" is orginally from 1976. And at that time I think that Prince was WAY into just making music and trying to get into the buisness rather than knocking girls up.. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U. |
