what is the best version of this song? Reading some of the comments on this site, it seems as if the released version isnt as good as the bootleg one. So which version do you prefer?

there are two unreleased versions of old friends 4 sale, one has strings and the other doesn't. the track also seques into in all my dreams

both these versions are miles better than the rerecorded version on the vault that was intended for joe cocker who did 5 women on the nightcalls album

the one(s) recorded in 1985. the original (lyrical) version

I prefer the unreleased version, it has more personal lyrics than the version on The Vault album.

But i don't dislike the released version.

-One w/o orchestra

-One with orchestra

-Final mix is Version #3.

All three are circulating.

Before The Vault:OF4S was out, that version was also circulating as a bootleg, but there's no need for it since he released it.
