Prince's cover of "When Will Be Paid" is great!

Just listening to this again. Some of Prince's one off studio gems are so passionate on the mixes and elements. This track is so cool, there's moments when the vocals he hits are so soulful and strong. And the arrangement and mix is so surgery perfect and dramatic. I also listened to High and Vavoom, and those have really strong production. Some passion went into cooking these up! I wonder what the High album would have been like.

I think it should've been the A-side not the B-side!

Also think it goes well with TRC.

Like this.

This is from an NPGMC page about the album "High."

Prince - HIGH (Album from 2000)

The High album has been completed for quite some time (summer 2000) - announced over NPGOnlineLTD in 2000 - but there are no definite plans as to how/if the album will be released. There is no release date set!

This album project seems not to be 'completed', likely more trax will be added!

At one point (August 2000), this 10 tracks were planned for inclusion on High:

"HIGH" [47:12 min.]:

01. "Supercute"* [4:15]
02. "Underneath the cream"* [4:00]
03. "Golden Parachute"* [5:33]
04. "When will we b paid?"* [4:07]
05. "The Daisy Chain"*+ [6:15]
06. "Gamillah"* [3:11]
07. "High"* [5:06]
08. "My Medallion"* [5:07]
09. "U make my sun shine"* [5:55]
10. "When I lay my hands on you"* [3:39]

More or less all songs R meanwhile available over NPG Music Club, performed live or on the NPG AHDIO transmissions / as video or offered as complete download or as sample. "Underneath the cream" is circulating as "bootleg".

There was past talk on here about how that might not have been exactly as it ended up, but a possible configuration.

Hmmmmm High Vs The Rainbow Children, I'd take TRC any day. However, I believe High would have been a commercial success. The album is full of energy(Something MLPsound/20ten misses). "When will we be paid" would have been a fantastic single!

Are you sure this is from NPGMC?

This reads very much like it has come from a fan rather than the official site.

Borisfishpaw "that's NOT the official tracklist by the way.
The real tracklist for the High album has never been made public."

Here is another reference:

And no doubt a political/social justice statement taken from Staple Singers (slaves!!).

Thank goodness Prince is a thinking man.
