Paisley Park open again? In another thread a user was asking about what it was like at Paisley Park so I went to the website to find the "virtual tour" link that I saw about a year ago & it seems the website has had a make-over?
http://www.paisleyparkstudios.com/archive/
I only visited the website once ages ago & from what I remember it was completley different.
More insterestingly though is it seems Paisley Park is available to rent again:

I recall reading on here a while ago that the studios/soundstage etc. have been closed to everyone but Prince for a long time so does that mean its open to bands again or is this old news? Please lock if this is nothing new |

They probably won't unless its in a "celebration week" setting. If they did open it up, they'd probably get one or two people a week, and they'd have to hire a tour guides and a security guard for just those 2 or 3 tours. Plus Prince is way to private for that. I heard for the 2002 celebration, some fools were rifling through the drawers in the Paisley Park kitchen when they did do tours. Good Lawd!
As for Neverland, I think its at the end of a long dirt road only wide enough for one car at a time, so that's probably one reason they won't open it. Plus the neighbors in CA probably don't want all that traffic. It's not a problem at PP since its in an industrial area.
Just my $0.02

I visited Paisley Park last year when Prince did his special concert for his fans last winter and it was AMAZING! all i could think about was wow , this guy who was raised in this town, built all of this all through his amazing music! the trip inspired me so much! he has an EMPIRE all from his talents! Imagine building an EMPIRE of your OWN based on doing something you truly love. What a blessing! Prince will never cease to amaze me and I hope he opens up his empire again! I want to watch Purple Rain there one day! when I saw the motorcycle from purple rain in the lobby I was in shock and kept thinking I CANT BELIEVE I AM HERE!!!!!!! Prince is THE SHIT!!!!! |

I had a similar feeling in 2002 for the "Xenophobia Celebration." At one point during one of the days they opened up the studio (not Prince's, the downstairs one where he recorded Sign O The Times). They put out beanbags so you could sit and chill. Engineer Femi Jiya put on some live music (which was later released as the box set). Me and my buddy kept repeating over and over, "We're sitting in Prince's recording studio listening to unreleased live tapes. This is surreal." It was one of those moments in your life where you want time to stop. The only thing that would've made it better is if Prince was hanging in the studio too, but you can't have it all! I imagine he wouldn't be comfortable, cuz there would be 30 people staring at him and stuff.
Will he ever be that open again? Who knows. One can only hope.
