In the image, its as if he has replaced whats missing in the skyline...his guitar with the 2 sections running vertical..Im not trying to be conspiritorial, it just brings to mind the twin towers for me.

its almost the same spot where his hands are....that the 2 planes crashed into each tower. Prince hasnt forgotten..neither should we.

I think you're reading too much into the pic. That's a picture of midtown Manhattan, not downtown Manhattan where the World Trade Center used to be. Secondly, the downtown area of Manhattan would have been to the very, far left of what looks like the Empire State Bldg in that pic, next to Prince.

Good point made by 2elijah, a lot of people try to read too much into a lot of things concerning Prince. People want a deep explanation over the slightest thing. "This must mean that because this is that" etc etc. Some people are often very surprised when there are very simple explanations to things, song titles, lyrics, a certain look etc etc. People tend to over analyse things, and in doing so forget to listen to the music properly or just enjoy things for what they are.

I'm not saying that asking questions and wondering if there is a deeper meaning to Prince things is wrong, there often is hidden meanings etc, but people just need to think more, chill out more and just enjoy the music, which, i think is often overlooked when people are doing too much digging into Prince's every move.

True. I just responded to that post, because it appears to be an image of the Empire State bldg, which is in midtown Manhattan, and there is nothing "missing in that area. Whereas, the Twin owers used to be in Downtown Manhattan, not midtown.

If anything, they picked the bass for its avant-garde look to complement the vertical nature of the backdrop, as well as the colors and tones of the other elements in the picture. (In other words, it's a better choice than, say, the Hohner for this picture.)

It's a poster. Simple as that.

I knew Id hear a lot of this...I know its not GROUND ZERO where he is standing. The clouds in the background do resemble plumes of smoke...more than just east coast clouds..(Im from NJ originally)..

Prince is very cryptique, as we all know...the first leg of his new US tour is NYC.., u don't think he is sensitive to the whole 9-11 situation? Most Americans do not want to believe anything about 9-11 except what the mainstream media tells them. (sheep). Prince is NOT into the mainstream media. I would bet anything Prince is if not just hinting at, he is at least in this pic, paying homage to 9-11 ..if no one else here does...Y'ALL MUST BE BLIND. open your heats and your mind.

I think it means that he planned the attack, with the President and the US government, and that together they created the al qaeda to cover it up. It's an interesting observation, but I don't believe it was intentional. If it was intentional, I don't believe it has any meaning, conspiratorial or otherwise. Just a remembrance.

Look here..I wasn't trying to be funny with this posting...it's an observation that is pretty freekin obvious...but some folks are in denial...but at least U do recognize some sort of, at least, a rememberance going on in his promo poster...

Look here you! Relax, it's nothing personal. I just don't see it at all (admittedly I'm not familiar enough with the NYC skyline from that perspective to be able to see it). The fact that nobody else has noticed it leads me to believe most other people don't see it either. Regardless, it just doesn't seem like his style, or stance. Associating yourself, your shows, or even your poster, with such an event requires that it take on many levels of new meanings (because that event holds many different meanings for many different people). I don't think Prince would conciously associate his little rock n roll party with all that. But hey, I may be wrong. If I am I'm just going to roll with the remembrance vibe. Making the assumption that it might mean anything else is stepping into an angry hornets nest that I have no desire to travel anywhere near.

I never said it was meant to be associated with anything BUT 9-11 itself...in what ever fashion..but again...most will deny this obvious reflection of 9-11. it is in fact VERY much his style though..to make reference to something very significant socially, politically and emotionally..he's written about apacolypse, and 9-11 before.
