There is, 81 version was the one i looked at goes for 1 minute. Just google the song & write prince the info for it will come up. Hope this helps.

^^^^^ No probs, oscar, just wish i could make out all the lyrics, ill keep at it. The prob is the music is louder than the vocals so it makes it a bit difficult to understand them in some places.

The original is The Rebels version from '79, the short snippet is the later version.

What genre is the short version. Good question It sounds like an outtake, recording studio version. Very little music with it, but enough to make it groovy. It's a lot softer than your introduced version

I see the Rebels were a group in 79. So did Prince write this for them/with them or what? I like the Dirty Mind version then. Must have been then era. I like the lyrics too.
