One more thing. If you really and I mean REALLY want to see anyone, let alone Prince, why not start SAVING YOUR MONEY for something like this. Granted, you never know when Prince is gonna come to your town but since Prince is still performing, it would be your responsibility to be ready for something like that. I learned a few years ago that I can save money for whatever I want to save it for and Prince is someone who I want to see so I saved my money and now I am able to go to all the shows here in NY. Now I know we all have lives and other responsibilities with it but why not make this some kind of priority if it means that much to you? It's not Prince job to make sure you can afford a ticket its what you do with your money that determines if you'll be able to afford the ticket. I'm not trying to be an dick with what I'm saying but Prince has got bills to pay, these shows cost money. It's the nature of the beast so it's our job to be ready when that beast comes to town. No more and no less.

Greetings, orgers. Yes, I'm still alive.
See, Prince has got to realize that we're living in hard economic times and that he has many fans out there that are at not very well off. Some may be at poverty level even. I can say this because as a poor struggling musician here in NYC I've been shafted out of a chance to see my #1 musical superhero. So why won't my hero consider maybe doing some gigs on the side to the needy and less fortunate fans that really want to see him? These damn tickets are just too costly for some folks that are barely trying to make ends meet and still climb the economic ladder.
I was thinking maybe P could do some free aftershows. I mean after all, he is trying to help the Harlem community as well as bring some culture and life back into the city. Sheeeiiiit, maybe he could try hooking some folks up with jobs if he really feels the need to help the community. I think it's great that he's got this tour going and I wish him all the best for it. But the sad reality is that I can't even afford to go because I have to think about other expenses in my life that I need to cover. This is rent money the boy's charging. And though he may not necessarily in control of how his shows are being charged, he could still stand up for the small man. My other hero, Joe Strummmer, for example always thought about putting his fans first and made sure they got to see him and The Clash back in the day. Remember that whole Bond's Casino craziness that happened back in 1981?
Come on, Prince, think about the economically challenged admirers of yours out there.
You should've pawned your computer and bought a ticket then this post would have been as impossible as it is unnecessary. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! |

so many hits so little time? yeah right. ok the first 2 were quite different...the 3rd and 4 were the same as the first too give or take 3-4 songs.........
then again how many of us are going to all 5? still each show is the best concert i ever been to by far for any performer i ever seen
so i wonder if soundgarden is indeed gonna come around in 2011. i'd love to see them being they reunited...gnr didn't show up and i wont do that again..and my baby michael hutchence is DEAD so no real INXS for me ...unless they dig up jd fortune again from the gutter and he was good but i'd sell kidney to see hutch live! |

I really wish that Prince would pioneer some new inovative fan inclusive method of ticket distribution. I understand where you're coming from, but part of what made ordering these tickets a hard pill to swallow for me was paying for what could have been an extra $20.10 ticket in surchage fees. It's absurd....
He did that 10 years ago! It was called NPG Music Club!! I miss those days! |

I don't think Prince owes us free aftershows, but I get where you're coming from.
I'd be happy if he'd just release a live CD of a performance from each 'tour'. Of course a paid for one, and then everyone's happy! God forbid, he could even syndicate a live broadcast or even a DVD?? |

Yes, priority seating and soundcheck access (for members) don't get more fan inclusive than that.

My only problem with the "tour" is he didn't actually tour. Rather than him travel to the fans, fans had to travel to see him unless they were in the New York City area. I've driven as much as 2 hours each way to see Prince concerts. But it's not just the expense of airfare/hotels, to see these concerts I'd have to spend time away from my family during the holiday season. Plus right before the holidays is an incredibly busy time at work. |

You're setting your goals too low. I'd say, if Prince doesn't show up at your house, play a free 3-hour show in your living room, then give you a 3-hour guitar lesson afterwards, and finally cook you pancakes when the sun comes up, then you're getting screwed.
Also, the rent is too damn high. |

I feel bad for anyone having hard times, but it's ridiculous to think Prince should somehow perform for free to accommodate the fans. There is no NEED for you to see him live - if you can't afford it, don't go!
His albums are readily available and about $10 each - enjoy those and don't spend outside your means to see him live.
If he did actually perform for free, people would complain that it wasn't close enough to them. |

Hey, can anyone point me to a thread where I can read a review by someone who was there? I searched but was surprised to come up wtih nothing.
Also would like to know who's in the band now.
And yeah, I was surprised that the set list was kinda "stale"... unless of course he was playing hot new arrangements.
Don't get me wrojng, any Prince concert will always be a great show but man, this sounds like an oldies collection. |

I don't own this computer, genius.
And yes, this post is necessary because this is how I feel. I know Prince doesn't have control of how the tickets are being sold. He's gotta play the business game, I know. I'm just saying that he could be a bit more generous by putting on some free shows or doing something for those that are unable to afford to see him. IF this tour ever comes to Cali, I really doubt the prices will be $20.10, $30., or even $49. or 70 dollars. Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave! |

He never really referred to it as a tour though. Wasn't it, "multiple nights of entertainment?" |

I feel you about the economy, but what does that tell you? It tells you that you're going to have to make some changes in the choices you make in your life, if you want to afford the "extras", no matter what those are. It's a new year, and you will probably have to map out what changes you will have to make, that didn't allow you to afford the spoils of life you wanted to enjoy last year. Those things don't come to you, you have to go out and "make it happen". Wish you luck with that, but no one in this life owes us anything, but you do owe yourself the best that life can offer. You just have to figure out a plan and ways to make it happen for you. Good luck. [Edited 1/2/11 6:48am] |
