Raspberry Beret cupcakes Nothing big but just wanted to let everyone know that on tonights episode of cupcake wars on the Food Network there MIGHT be an item directly inspired by our favorite artist. Due to confidentiality rules I can not tell more but everyone will figure it out. Please note that Prince has nothing to do with this....it is just someone paying tribute by way of his baking trade. | |

Now that the show aired here is the story! Since Prince is still alive, they could not mention his name or make any reference to him. The "Bruce" team decided to have the theme of the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Elvis was obvious and was able to be mentioned because he is no longer with us. They chose Prince as the second person in this category based on the advice of me (Org representation). They made the Raspberry Beret cupcake. The Food Network did not want to pay royalties...so there was a good deal of editing and they could not make direct reference to Prince or the song title. Like I said...nothing big but it was a cool way to try and give props to Prince in a totally unrelated industry.
