My playlists are in a folder called "Shades of Prince":
I have a bunch of "other stuff" I didn't load for various reasons. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

May i ask why you would you want to degrade the quality of your music? Is disk space an issue? Are you converting to mp3 to play stuff on an ipod? Because these are the only reasons that i can possibly imagine that someone would want to swap a lossless format for mp3. I hope you are aware that there are other (free) media players that support Flac format? No need to degrade your music.

305 on my iPhone, which is everything he's released (or hasn't) that I like.
I don't put many live tracks on my phone. I hate listening to the middle of a show at random. I like listening to the whole show.
I've probably got a couple thousand live songs, but there's a whole lot of repetition in there.

Lossless really is the way to go

IWHAT?
5175 files, 464 folders, 36.9 GB on the external HD. Some of that is multiple shows from the same tour where the exact set (or close to it) was performed, and some of it is, like, the original City Lights and the Remastered City Lights. I've got about 1/3 that much backed up on DVDs and not on the external, though.
And as soon as external hard drives are free I'll download and rip everything in a lossless format. Until then. There is NOT that much difference in sound quality between a properly converted MP3 (192 or 320 - whichever sounds better to you) and a flac, ogg, ape, or even wav. I know you're foaming at the mouth right now, getting ready to explain to me how incredibly wrong I am, but There just isn't a sonic difference that is noticeable enough to the average portable music playing listener to justify using three, four or more times the storage space. It's just a file. It's not a CD or a record, it's a file.

I'm sure it will. But it comes with a price, literally... Space for these gems isn't that easy to conjure up, so expect to spend money if u really want 2 collect Had to buy a whole new external harddrive to hold new DLs that are freshly being uploaded. 1 terrabyte (but really 930 GB to be exact). So for future birthdays, job bonuses, & xmases, ask for a harddrive! Cuz you'll need it.
FLAC really eats up my space, even more than movies, so I do convert to 320 MP3, except for my favorite concerts I leave it to both versions, so right now I'm struggling to stay above 20 GB worth of space!
Sorry to go into technics, but Western Digital (WD) harddrives r really cool. Most trusted, affordable brand I must say. I had to get a desktop one though becuz the portables are even more expensive & doesnt hold that much space as the desktop. So I have to tug it around everywhere I go & make sure there's an outlet, but it's not that bad. Amazon has pretty good deals, but I got mine online from Walmart. I'm done with my rant.... Man, I just got my first HD for Christmas, a few weeks ago my computer crashed and I lost ALL my music...it was terrible. I didn't get a Western Digital, it's a Seagate. For future reference though I'll look into those types. I've only got a few things in FLAC, most of my stuff is MP3, would love to have everything in both formats though, since I primarily listen to music through an ipod/itunes, and the quality of lossless is desirable.
