Piggyback riding off purplemookiebut's thread of favorite musique video, what songs do u think should've had videos to go along with them and what songs do you think not? There's plenty of good ones. Also consider live versions that should've been videos (ex. Question of U)

Like I highly believe DMSR would have made an excellent musique video instead of Let's Pretend We're Married. Definitely would've dominated! A party anthem like that, should've made the list.

Agree, However I do wonder how he would've played that out. Maybe something like Automatic, in front of a microphone stand. There was only so much u could do back in the 80s, and everyone in charge knew exactly that Prince would've stretched it as far as he could.

well automatic was pretty great in pushing it. international or do me baby would have had to been soft core porn to live up my my expectations and thoughts in my head of images those songs conjure up!! like lady cab driver...

Lol I know that's right. There's basically no other way to do it, unless he did it how he originally recorded it with lying down under the piano, lights out, and a sparkly purple shawl or something like that over the piano and Have his microphone placed underneath to sing it. Gotta love how he did his own vocals alone first before allowing anyone else to come in and lay down their tracks and/or backing vocals. He was/still is very shy even in the studio , of course with the lyrics he was singing he had to be. Still proves great to this day. Sorry for that bit of going off track

I am actively against music videos. I think it is WAY better to come up with your own interpretation and memory association with your favorite song.

I do think actual, live concert videos of songs are OK, because those aren't visual interpretations.

Otherwise, I am glad I grew up when there were no music videos. When my favorite song comes on, I am glad that I think of cruising Texas Avenue with my girlfriend, instead of some director's video that changes camera shots every second.

There r many ways to have a visual (time, place, scene, location, color tone, emotion, people, actions) for a video, and it's interesting 2 c where Prince goes with his directing, good or not, (becuz its PRINCE) so I don't kno where u come from talking about some wanking material.
