the new old band man

just heard the new live tapes lastnight this morning and when they say prince singing was on it that was no hype .. the man prince has once again impressed me .. especially the madison garden show .. again i believe that prince reads the org because no sooner had I complained about his "sing dammit" schtick that ruins his songs than prince has all but dropped it completely .. and replaced it with his money maker .. the voice of prince yeah .. he is singing and singing really really good .. prince could/should release the madison show as a live record .. but then again there is scandelous from the izod .. i don't think scandelous is the kind of hit your average hits fan knows but it is without a doubt the kind of prince song that upon hearing anyone would fall in love with .. in fact prince singing was so good so on that he even made me like 'shhh' .. now lets get down to the critique .. THE BAND WAS POPPIN I have to admit it has been a long time since prince band really hit it for me .. i am very impressed with john blackwell on drums .. even tho his snare has pretty much no snare on it .. the sound was tight hard and snappy .. there is no show without a great drummer .. i believe prince knows this and honestly i agree that blackwell .. if everyone prince has worked with was available .. was the guy to choose for the job .. i saw him on the celebration tour .. similar style show with the hits played in full .. way back then i made a coment that he should drop the bridge of u make my sunshine cuz it ruined the song and wouldnt cha know he snipped it right out and put angel so devine in its place .. a much better arrangement in my opinion .. anyway back to the point .. did u notice prince did not draw and eye for the i in if eye was ur girlfriend .. wassup with that? .. the bass player as well sounded really really good .. so hear is where i have to give some tough love .. its time to drop reneto on keys .. firstly .. even tho the drums and bass sound different than the recordings they still sound great .. the keyboards on the other hand do not have that fiery sleeze overdrive analog tone and it sounds like reneto is playing some cheap ass kmart keyboards with those thin cheasy tones he is getting out of it .. and the solo in delerious .. i'm sorry but what song does he think he is playing because if ur gonna work out those songs as much as he did .. and damn man i gotta give it to prince he really worked em out so good just like the olden days .. then to kill it with that robot jazz solo over delerious ugh .. i mean kill it in a bad way .. sorry .. and the horns .. where is the horns .. you know prince is getting paid something good for these gigs .. i could go for maceo or just cough up the dough and get atlanta and eric out there .. expecially if yer thinking of doing and 'family' tunes .. and that reminds me 'nothing compares to you' needs to be either family style or sinead style .. the song itself is so brilliant no one can really butcher it .. kinda like beautiful girl .. the cheese rock arrangement doesnt work at all but the song is so good i dont care .. but back to compares 2 u .. i dont like the blues rosie gaines version .. or the duet crap .. please go back to new wave family style and put the oh oh oh oh oh oh's back in and take out the cheese rock element

i still dont like shhh would have loved do me baby right there .. that song has always been a highlight at most any show .. if he threw in some computer blue or some 17 days pop life and drop pearls before the swine and love thy will be done and put in prince singing 'here' ... that would knock em dead on it just like scandelous does .. great shows tho .. prince singing was just amazing

Yup, msg is awesome!

The arrangements are absolutely fantastic! The energy is through the roof!

I would have never thought he could ever make "Lets Go Crazy" sound fresh again, but it was outstanding! The drummer was kicking ass! The band is sharp as hell!

And Prince's voice is back to awesome and the ultimate showman. Hard to believe he is 52.

I'm glad he reclaimed "Cool" becasue aint nobody bad as Prince!

I gotta go see this live!

i wanted to read this, but didn't, because you didn't use paragraphs. WALL OF TEXT isn't readable.
