My favorite prince guitar solo is from "the Holy River" and from "the Question of U" . I wanna know your thoughts

I like "The Holy River" too.

I've always loved the ''Shhh'' solo. It's simply wonderful

But the top favourite solo is the 95' version of Empty Room, gives me goosbumps everytime. The feeling of sadness and despiration is something only he can create in a song

And the solo in Crucial are a good one too

While My Guitar Gently Weeps, I showed this to my husband on you tube and he didn't realize what a great guitarist Prince actually is! It's one of my fav's as well!

The Electric Chair solo from SNL is completely off the hook and very uniquely Prince. I love that one.

The Questions of U, Purple Rain, Shhh, Fury, Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad and are possibly my top 5 fave guitar solos of Prince!

As for live solo performances, I really, really love the solo performance he did w/Tamar on Red Headed Stepchild, the 2010 Milan performance of Purple Rain, the 1992 Cream performance on Arsenio, and the Question of U in the 2004 LA show. Those are the ones that come to mind!

Oh yeah, I really like that one too! Everything about that performance actually..

It doesn't get a mention usually, in comparision with the "gently weeping" showmanship. But, I seem to recall Prince tearing a royal hole in the roof with his guitar work from his set during the Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He was killing, that night, as I recall.

And, I preferred his soloing from his set to that other one (which always seemed to me to be more about the antics than the composition of the solo). but, that's just my take on it.

Personal fave: Purple Rain, Syracuse 1985. From beginning to end, he was on it that night.

I personally like the one on So Far, So Pleased...

One song that deserves attention : I Will, the solo is brief but powerful and unusually placed at the end of the song , don't forget the piano solo, superb....and the use of the sax.....unusual song in every aspect but one lovely song, for me thats Prince...Genius!!!!!!!!!!!
