Seriously? You sound like a very bitter person or just immature. Again, you have proven my point exactly. Have a better day...and smile. No, I'm not a JW...Wow, really? --has nothing to do with the topic. No further communication is necessary since I'm probably responding to a child---thanks. [Edited 12/24/10 7:16am]

Right run away flaming when you are confronted with spreading nonsense. Nah, that's not immature or childish. Call somebody bitter or a hater just because you don't know how to defend your own made up stories.
BACK UP your claims, especially when they are so sensationalist as yours, is in what mature people do. In fact, children and people with no sense of responsibility spread unfound crazy rumours about other people.

I think Prince from time to time has used elements that some see as 'occult' (backwarded recordings, references to things like the number 666) just for the sake of provocation / promotion of his music and mostly in a playfull way. The same goes for the lyrics of a song like 'sister' and him wearing assless pants or stockings.
I mean, in the sixties people were listening to Beatles records, trying to listen to backwarded pieces to find out if Paul was really dead. Prince probably knew and knows that kind of things draw attention and incorporated some of it into his music.
Just because he did put backwared pieces into his music, doesnt mean he is into the occult. He just did use this element in a postmodern way.

Whatever. Only you took it out of a bullshit context. That's what the whole site is about bullshit conversations about Prince.
If you take this shit seriously you are going to be seeing a shrink.

I think the people here who are accusing him of being into the occult, either are: - Trolls, trying to stir up some provocation; - Conspiracy nuts, believing in the Illuminati, chemtrails, NWO etc - People who label themselves as christians, and who are a bit affraid that Prince has done something that goes against their believes.
Or a combination of those three.. lol

It's always funny to me when people talk about chemtrails and the NWO as if they are comic books or something to laugh about.
You know, when you've got people like Kissinger out there running their mouthes about borderless worlds and world governments, it's not so far-fetched. What proof has been unearthed that those things don't exist? Hell, it only takes like 10 minutes to look through Obama's cabinets to see he is in bed with billionaires.

Chemtrails is a very silly idea. Just research it out, and you will see it's like believing in the Tooth Fairy.
Of course Prince entertains the occult with references to a "crystal ball" being the most obvious element.
But I seriously doubt he is seriously into the occult as much as really into playing his guitar and getting another custom outfit produced. He uses supernatural/mystical references in a vague, theatrical way much like he uses sexuality theatrically. He also happens to be using this element less and less recently (I wish he would get back into his scifi/mystical concepts again as part of his schtick)
By the way noting the name 1999 is a reference to 666 (which is a biblical reference, not an occult reference) is the same as saying "the number 9 is really the number 6.... just hold it upside down!"

Spinlight, one word: common sense.
or maybe two: logical thinking could be included also.
When you look at those conspiracy sites, you see people who are affraid to get ruled by the so called NWO / Illuminati. Some secret world government, that works in the background of the existing governments. You really think the several governments in the world have succeeded in working together for centuries, with some common goal: to bring the people down? Look at your own relations, your own family and friends. I assume you dont always agree with them, that you have fights from time to time? There is no way some movement that wants to control all the people, could have survived.
Next to that: look at the conspiracies about 9-11 or chemtrails. It ever occured to you that these kind of things are not 'watertight'. That someone would open their mouth and go against it? That is what people usually do when they follow their consciousness. Why 'believe' in fables about holographic planes when you can use your common sense? and show me the first air-pilot who tells he is spreading chemtrails and wont continue with it. I can't find them.
Last, but not least: the entire idea of some NWO wanting to put people in FEMA-camps, or the idea of governments trying to create civil unrest by letting muslim or mexican immigrants come in is misguiding. When you use your common sense you will realise that some NWO or 'Powers that be' are far better off with people that have a job, a good family life, with not much unrest in their life.

Erm I never said I think P is into the occult just because someone said so, and erm why are you connecting the occult with devil worshipping

Occult= hidden from view.
These days the word has become a catch-all to describe any and everything out of the ordinary. People in general probably know little about genuine occult practices, they just think they do.
Anyhoo, Prince was always pretty adventurous and full of mischief...there is absolutely no evidence to suggest he has more than a superficial understanding of the occult, much less that he actually dabbled in it. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I'm sorry, but that's just woeful (and willful) ignorance, to me. To presume people will always run their mouth is taking people's fanaticism about things for granted. I don't know a whole lot about the chemtrail stuff - I just know it would not surprise me in the least because I am well aware that the US government lies to its people incessantly. There are very NON-occult and NON-conspiracy-backed events that depict this. Julian Assange has been giving you reasons to be angry at the US government for a while now.
But of course, people just laugh it all off like nothing's about to happen. lol. Jaded, junk-food-fed americans.

Just as the meaning of "occult" has been twisted so has the meaning of "conspiracy". When the word is spoken here in America people here automatically assume that the subject matter is not true. America is the best place to engage in conspiracies because the people don't believe they exist.

Oh conspiracies exist allright, the thing is that they have always existed and so have secret societies. It's not new. But stating that the election was stolen in 2000 is a far cry from saying that Prince William is the anti-christ, for example.
Are there powerful men behind the scenes trying to use their power, money and influence to their own advantage? Of course there are...always has been, but to allege that they are really shape shifting extra-terrestrial lizards who demand a blood sacrifice is a whole nother matter.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

1. Chemtrails are bullshit. http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4027 2. How has Julian Assange made anyone angry at the US Government? So far it's been over-hyped obviousness. One example would be fine. Just one!

Bullshit. I've said the exact same thing every time. If you expect people to take you seriously, provide ONE example of me "changing my replies".
Unfortunately for you, I know damn well that you'd be unable to do that. |

Unfortunately for you, I know damn well that you'd be unable to do that. Just because I can't speak English as well as native speaker, that's your only advantage. People can search those threads where you "said it it's gonna be released", then Bart told you it's not gonna happen because it's Prince. The rest is all there.

Excuse me? Actually, I had no idea you weren't a native speaker. Your English is great. And if I had known, I wouldn't use it to try and have an advantage in an argument. That's not my style.
Look, I don't know how to say it any differently. Anyone who said it wouldn't be released was guessing. Sure, it's a safe guess based upon the amount of previous projects that Prince has talked about and ultimately never released. But there's no way that anybody knew for a FACT that it wasn't. The only evidence available, was the "Rich Friends" premiere and announcement, where the hosts said it was from 20TEN Deluxe, the Peach and Black Podcast where Prince talked about 20TEN Deluxe to the hosts, and the fact that I was told personally that work had been done for that album directly from the person that did it.
All of that is pretty solid evidence that the album exists and Prince did intend to release it. And those are all the things I've ever said. Those three points. From day one. I haven't changed the things I've said. But, it seems that Prince may have changed his mind. As he does. Like with the 7CD sample set, Roadhouse Garden, Crystal Ball II, the 3121 Movie, the Rainbow Children documentary filmed by Kevin Smith. All of those things exist in some state or form and all were intended to be released at some stage and then Prince decided against it.
I choose to be an optimist and believe Prince when he mentions upcoming projects he intends to release. Some people don't. And that's fine. But, at the end of the day, I take Prince's word for it when he talks about these things. It excites me as a fan. I understand that some people are cynical because of the amount of intended releases that never came out. Perhaps it's just a difference in character. |
