Did "Egypt" ask him if he's going to release 20Ten in the US?? I missed the interview, and THAT would have been a legit questions... but she sucks so I doubt it...

Prince has pretty much been incapable of completing anything in the past few years. Moreso than ever before. I think a lot of has to do with him not really having management, a record company to answer to, or real business people assisting in handling his business.
I will be suprised if he actually does all the dates of the current 'tour' even. Especially since he's already been criticizing Live Nation publicly.
Every time he does a one off 'contract free' business deal, he ends up having issues with whatever company he's dealing with and burns that bridge almost immediately.

He did say on the radio interview the other day (not the Egypt one, the other one) that they had "prepared an album" for the tour. I would not be surprised if the album has been renamed "Welcome 2 America". Guess we'll just have to wait and see. |

I think Prince came to the realization that the album sucks and whats the point of rereleasing a sorry album. Its time to forget about that one and move on(I HOPE)!!

Hmmmm.... This could be totally true. Does anybody know what the last analog album Prince recorded was? "Prince doesn't have verbal diarrhea, he has studio diarrhea...." Allen Leeds

I think he made the switch to digital when everyone else did - the mid 90's. The most striking example I can think of is in the world of hip-hop. Listen to albums released in 1994 with their analog warmth - "Illmatic" by Nas, Biggie's "Ready To Die", Warren G's "Regulate". Then listen to albums released in 1997 and how they sound all clean and digital - Biggie's "Life After Death", Puff Daddy's "No Way Out", Ma$e's "Harlem World". The difference is striking.
Regarding Prince, you also have this same consistency between analog VS digital if you compare 1995's "The Gold Experience" to 1996's "Emancipation". I could be wrong, but to me The Gold Experience sounds like his last album recorded on analog and Emancipation his first recorded digitally. |

Uh, Spin, I don't always side with what you say, but usually you show more logic than this, unless you are baiting us with sarcasm. I can answer your question like this: Do you know who you are asking this question about? Oh wait, Let me put on my copy of Roadhouse Garden, Parade Live, The Chocolate Invasion, and use my 7 CD Sample Set for background music. Oh yeah, none of those releases exist. 20Ten Deluxe will likely rot with Thousands of songs in the Vault. As physical cd sales continue to drop, any possible income for Prince or Warners for the remasters will continue to fall.
Remember, this astute businessman could have put tickets for the New Jersey shows on sale months ahead of time so they could sell out, but only the MSG shows have sold well...why? Well, you could probably get just about any decent star to sell out MSG. A tour needs planning, and promotion. Prince stops promoting his new album releases nearly a week or two after their release. He doesn't even play a 20Ten song live at most of the shows. In fact, Future Soul Song and Laydown are the only songs to get anything close to a full performance treatment. If he mentions the name of a song in a snippet, it doesn't count as a performance to me.
This is all sad, but true. The best Artist ever making things difficult for himself.
