20TEN Deluxe (it had to be said).

This album is not for sale at the Welcome 2 America shows.

This album now has about 2 weeks of potential relevance. Why has he not released it yet? Considering all the hype we've heard about (albeit, hype is relative) the album, where's it at? If Prince truly believes that the bread & butter of his career are the live shows and that the albums are just for the "collectors", does he even need to release albums anymore?

I don't see why 20Ten deluxe can only be released in 2010. When was 1999 released?

I'm not saying it will be released, only that I can't see any problem with releasing it in 2011.

RIP sad

it has to be released in 2010 cuz thats the name of the album .. but there is no song on it called 2010 .. therefore the only thematic reason for it to be called 2010 is because of the year it was released.

as i said before .. he is not gonna release it in the us because he already polled us when he realeased cause and effect as to whether the fans wanted to hear the rest of the collection and cause and effect was bad enough that people resoundingly said no, pass, try again

so he released it else where .. thats it thats all yer gonna get .. download it or order it as an import or however it works but the purpose of cause and effect was to teach his badmouthing fans a lesson .. obviously he feels his new music is strong .. he always does .. so its a business decision really .. why undermine his tour with what will be a poorly reviewed record that his hardcore fans already have anyway

i am pretty sure prince songs would come to life if he stopped using the computer and went back to analog .. its just a less robotic process .. more room for mistakes aka life in the music .. which is what his recordings lack .. too much is just programmed to repeat perfectly .. everything is thought out instead of felt in the recording process

prince go ANALOG!! and don't rap.

If Prince had a lick of sense, he would have done what OK Go and others have done in recent years - sold USB drives of 20TEN Deluxe or of every night's show right on the spot.

This article - "The New Rock Star Paradigm" by OK Go's Damian Kulash - appeared in the New York Times yesterday. Let's hope Prince read it. He might learn something.

1999 is different imo. That album title was based on the song 1999, which was about partying like it's 1999. The album had a reason to be called 1999. Same goes for 3121. The reason this new album is called 20TEN is because it was released in 2010. I can't find any lyrics about 2010 on the album, so the album has no relevance in two weeks, just like Spinlight stated.

I would laugh my ass off if Prince released 20TEN Deluxe under the name 20ELEVEN though lol

You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

remember in his interview he said 2010 was really 1010 there fore we must scientifically conclude the deluxe record .. instead of having 10 more songs will have 10 less songs .. just as he also stated "there is no time" there is also no deluxe record because you already have it .. its nothing

I liked the message in "cause and Effect. It was dance-able.

That's the bar to me: Can I dance to it? Can I listen to it without getting offended by the message..?

And that's with any music now-a-days.

Alot of music today is "MEAN"

And I don't like dancing for someone or with someone to a mean song. The song I choose, I represent, and I don't like mean songs that give the audience or the man the wrong idea about me.

I like cause and effect for that reason.

I love OK Go. They are really changing things up. One time an interviewer asked Damian why OK Go does all those artistic and crazy videos and he said that he chose to be in a band so he could do something creative every day. <3 them!

Great article - I need to listen to these guys again. I saw them play in a NJ record store many years ago and they were really quite good. It's cool to see a band doing things successfully in their own way.

I got my copy two days before it was released in the UK, don't believe me? There is a thread somewhere, with pics.

May be he's considering spanning 2010-2011? sort of like the Lotusflow3r album where he brings 3 types of music; a trilogy of sorts? A kind of 2010-Welcome to America-2011.

I do not know how either, i was just saying it was being shared in a number of manners. but as i have heard it I am not impressed. But you know 25 ish years and 25+ albums later I am not easy to please when it comes to a new prince song much less an album.

No, i think it'll still sound in 25 years like it does now, mediocre.

We better be careful, the 20Ten cum dribblers will be here soon.

of course it will still be round in 25 years it is a CD!

as for the 20ten c....fans... let the c... huh... say what they will. I am sure it is a find album. but like i said when compared to ALL of his other songs, it is hard to beat them all or even enough of them to make it a great PRINCE album.
