His albums(other than Purple Rain, D&P, Batman and 1999) have really been blockbusters. A few string of hits in the 80s/early 90s and thats about it. It doesn't compare to MJ, Madonna or even Elton John for his time period just to name a few. He could rival them back in his day live but thats about it. He is in the second tier of superstars behind your Elvis'es, Beatles, Stones, Madonna, MJ etc. I would put him with the likes of the Mellencamps, Springsteens etc. Nothing to slouch at but not in the elitest group

Kids and teens have always liked him, and he really liked kids too. No pun intended.

Prince was not just bad, but was proclaimed by the music world as "His Royal Badness" MJ wanted in on that too. So he wrote a song declaring himself bad. He even named the album Bad, just to make sure we got the hint. He also asked Prince to participate and join him in declaring himself bad. He wanted it on video for all the world to see, just in case the point still wasn't clear. Prince said, you're on your own with this, and took a pass.

Not satisfied in being Bad, in 1989 he would not allow his video to air on MTV unless they referred to him on air, every time his name came up as "The King of Pop" bowing in bended knee as they did so. They said they were not sure about the bended knee part, but sure what the heck. And the rest is History. But that's another album.

michael jackson is a long dead pop star. he released nothing in approximately the last 10 years of his life, he didn't tour for approximately the last 12 years of his life. when he did tour in the previous 10 years of his touring life, the majority of his stage time was spent dancing to lip synched vocals. he was a drug addict for the last 3 decades of his life. he had a reputation of being a peadophile and faced numerous child abuse charges in court, the last of which partly as a result to admitting to sleeping with boys in a television interview. that's the person you are defending like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. an extremely flawed individual. as far as i'm aware, you aren't related to him, you never knew him, never met him, and i'm not sure if you even saw him live in concert. these things apply to the vast majority of his fans. it's like putting the pussy on a pedestal and not getting anywhere as a result

i and many other people enjoy or at least enjoyed some of his music and think some of it's great, some of the videos are great, etc etc etc, but on the flip side i and many other people recognise the failures too, and some will speak of both the highs and lows with similar passion. we look at things more clearly and less blinkered, and as a result can express ourselves in a far greater manner and not get upset or touchy by things that other people say or write. the same applies to most prince fans, we like some or most of it and dislike other parts, say what we feel and don't get upset by any negative comments

going back to my post that set you off, i was saying that no-one calls prince those terms. they were terms coined by a few music journalists. they aren't used by the fans, they aren't terms i see used by people on this or other prince fan sites, and as far as i'm aware they aren't terms used by the poster, thus calling someone a retard for using those terms does not reference prince fans, orgers and most definately not the poster in question

going back to my suggestion that you are trolling this site, it appears that you use selective reading to pick out phrases and ignore the context in order to cause arguements and disruption online. i've noticed a number of various tactics used by MJ fans on this site to bury, cover up, defend and argue about points they don't agree with. your posts suggest you are of sufficient intellect to understand what is being said, so if it was to be said that you were either to stupid or ignorant to understand or you were clearly looking for an arguement, then the latter is clearly the case here. i don't think you misunderstood due to lack of intelligence, but you knew what was meant and you are looking to cause an argument. you mention my "lame trolling skills", does that mean that your trolling skills are elite?

the phrases coined for prince that were mentioned were those from music journalists. not proper journalists that report on facts, but writers that aren't sufficiently creative to be novelists, perhaps they are failed musicians as they also lacked that skill base. these are the people that fill tabloids with stories that are literally made up from the bare minimum of detail, causing unnecessary rumours and making money as a result. those are the people i refer to as retards, those are the only people who call prince those names. the "pint sized rockstar" is a far more commonly used phrase than those mentioned, so why not list those instead?

prince doesn't need a title. he keeps on making new music, he keeps on playing live shows. he's done this for decades without a title and will continue to do so for a long time. fake titles should be reserved for those that need them to make a living and need a personality boost

PROOF - http://search.twitter.com...al+badness - there's about 20 usages of the term from fans there just in the last few days. None of those people are journalists.
