I would guess now. It would ruffle up his clothes.....knowing some of the people on this site, you woudl probably tear him to shreds, thus the reason it probably never happened. Anyone know for sure?

I remember he did during 'Now' on The Beautiful Experience

He didn't really stage dive but he surfed the crowd to get to the piano in a 1999 performance of Nothing Compares 2 U.

Closest I remember is when he fell backwards into the crowd in Purple Rain:Baby I'm A Star

He did one on Soul Train when he doing NOW, but that was staged and he fell into his people. I suspect that that was always the case--that when he did he had his people in the audience to catch him.

I can recall seeing a picture of him doing that during the early 80s

i have some pix of it i can post later. he landed slap bang on top of me as i was front row. the next day i ended up onstage with him at brixton academy

He kind of did during the tribute 2 George Harrison at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame performance in 2004. Not really a dive but a cool, funky movement nonetheless & whilst playing guitar!!

He stage dives and swims in the crowd on the Rave Un2 DVD. It's actually really cute when he does it.

i went to the hippodrome that was some night for me that one.

Yeah I remember the blonde girl from Minnie caught him...I was standing a few feet away.

I was relieved that it wasn't me...I have carpal tunnel and I might have dropped him,

That was his last stage dive as far as I know.
