So illogically, continually insisting on the wrong answer until someone spoon feeds you a real one. That's not really bait but it does smell like chum.
Oh jtfolden, I think it got really blown out of proportion, I was having more fun with it than anything, I didn't make it serious, it came from you and Genesee, dam lighten up.
And since you know that it isn't just give the answer instead of saying it's wrong... I don't see why that was so hard. and again lighten up
Pimps & Hoes, and don't tell me that Vanity 6 and the Dirty Mind-Purple Revolution lace teddy's were not Victorian inspired lol
They weren't. Victorian undergarments were voluminous and extremely modest - not bare and lacy. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

LOL Until someone offers a specific time period that the look comes from I'll keep throwing the bait lol
Harlequins and Pierrot clowns too
I did give a specific time period, you mental midget.
All of the Purple Rain-era costumes were based on clothing from the Georgian period.

He has also worn Regency-inspired clothing (Regency is actually part of Georgian - but it's late Georgian - the time when George III had gone mad and his son, the Prince Regent, took over the rule). In fact, most of the high collars Prince wears to this day are Regency collars (note the collar on this jacket)...

Now, go play in traffic.
LOL Genetaw, you never said Georgian and none of the images I saw of the Regency period matched the look... I did check it out. Those pics don't look any closer but I appreciate the effort.

I gave my portion of the answer, that it wasn't Victorian inspired, which happens to be an era I am familiar with... unlike you, I wasn't prepared to speak out of turn on other eras I'm not as familiar with... Also, don't simply equate having knowledge of something as needing to lighten up.

Umm, no they really weren't. During the Victorian era, the sight of a bare wrist was scandalous. It was all about layers and volume and what might be hidden underneath.
If you'd said Edwardian I might have said "maybe" ... |

Again thank U for your knowledge,
I know this is cyberspace, sometimes after pulling up Prince era threads and research I get a little silly. I know in cyberspace (withough actually hearing, knowing or seeing someone) we can't tell their mood. But I really was having fun with it, didn't expect all this. And I was still having fun with the Vanity 6 part. I started it by saying what the image came from which was the Pimps(the Time) and Hoes/Hookers(Vanity 6) that Prince was going for. Not the Victorian or Edwardian era lol thanks again.
And Geneseo still get's very tart with people too quickly. So I still say lighten up. And thanks for your information
