"Feline" - How Many Versions Are There? I only have the rehearsal version which is 27 minutes long. This was supposed to be in The Family's album, If my memory serves me correctly. Is there a studio version though?
On a related note; what a kick ass song,,,,I live for that bass line

^The studio version with vocals is not circulating. What we have is just the instrumental background.
The lyrics seemed to be too dirty for St. Paul's beliefs, that's why it was scrapped from the album.

^^Yes. This from Uptown #35. Despite being one of Eric's favourite tracks "Feline" was left off the album. "It was a manic track," Eric notes. "I love it! I remember being there when he (Prince) was doing most of the work on it. He was like a man possessed. I don't know who he was mad at that night. It was a really cool track, but it definitely was the odd man out from that album, It stuck out like a sore thumb." The song is sexually explicit, featuring a rap by Paul, who says, "St Paul's my name, makin' love's my game." The rap was altered slightly and then used for Sheila E's "Holly Rock." Paul felt ill at ease singing the lyrics. "Paul's mum objected to it," says David Rivkin.

I'm pretty sure there is an aftershow that has the vocals.
I might be thinking of the rehersal, however. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
