English Soul Singer Shocked By Prince Stage Attack

Soul singer Beverley Knight has hit out at a Prince fan who stormed the stage as her idol performed on Thursday. The woman leaped on the stage during the Purple Rain star's celebrity-studded show in London, forcing a kiss on the stunned singer and knocking him to the ground.

Startled Prince ran off the stage, returning a few minutes later to tell the crowd, "I'm so ashamed I let a total stranger kiss me."

Knight, 34, sympathised with the star saying, "It was so disgusting. I can't believe anyone would be that disrespectful. What makes you think you can behave that way with Prince?"

rebecca didn't attack prince tho. she told me the full story one day whilst driving to paisley. i do know an attack story featuring rebecca tho

Man, Ur thread and the thread with in it about the sound check system incident explains why he is weary at times about fan being overly- enthusiactic... funny but....ummm a little scary & crazy....but who knows what people would do if they are not mentally prepared about being up close and personal with Prince when given an opportunity I've been in close proxcimity to him twice, and held my cool, but I don't know what I would do if I meet him when I didn't expect it, like Sheri, from the view (But I loved her response) But the 2 above mentioned incidents also explains & highlights why more intimate fan experiances are not a regular anymore . I think the original sand dollar stuff is in the closed "Old GD" forum.

Good for Ms Knight for speaking out.

She's got such a great voice and really makes those deep house vocal tracks come alive.
