Not his greatest in my book, but it's up there with the classics for sure. Lyrically, it's way up there.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The music is very hypnotic like. Not his best, but great though. But lyrically....that's one of his finest lyrics! Only The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker is better.

I like the song, but it comes alive when played live, there are some fantastic versions of it out there.

I haven't heard a live version that tells the story as well and dramatically as the studio version, but I know there are a lot of live versions out there.

Musically - brilliant.

Lyrically - absolutely fantastic.

The live version on the ONA...Live! set - one of the best live recordings of a song, ever.

I think that can be said of many songs in a live situation.

I was thinking more along the lines of musicianship. Joy In Repetition is usually accompanied by some pretty spectacular guitar work.

Just the original (same) studio version with the longer lonely intro of the beat starting up like a slow heart from silence then echoing over itself to form a rhythm as the organ chords creep in.

Great song! Hynotic track, cool lyric, face-melting guitar ear-gasm at the end. One of my favorite songs. The live version from the One Night Alone set is incindiery!
